No it's not.

They have complementary skill sets and it's mos def better than facing them.

EDIT it's not happening though. Kawhi will stay on a 1+1 if he wins, he bought a house. KD will stay after how this turned out with the injury - if anything he's the one that comes to NY, but Davis should be traded to Boston if nothing unreasonable happens.

That’s not at all what was released to the public. It was said that he wanted out because Spurs told his agent they wouldn’t give him the full max. They expected him to take pay cuts (ala Duncan) & they kept comparing him to the vets. They assumed his soft spoken character wouldn’t allow him to say no or ask for a trade. They were wrong.

Boston has all of it and i think even the Lakers have it with Kuzma or Ball being looked at as the could be all star player. The Knicks are the team that doesn't have the all star player so we'd have to find a 3rd team to help us.

Omfg!!!!!!!

Frank/Kadeem (or vice versa)
Kawhi/Trier
Durant/Dotson
AD
Mitch/DJ

This team might play a little defense :D

I like the way you've persuaded Trier to take $2.2m on a 1+1 (2nd year player option) and DJ the $4.75 room MLE (same 1+1 story) on the gentleman's agreement that you'll pay them both next year. Team then seems superfine. NOP get #3, Knox, Smith, Garrett, Jenkins, Ellenson and 2 mavs and 2 knicks picks. That's the idea, right?

Me or GreenArrow?

I had DSJr going out in the trade for AD. Ah - I see you had him in there. DJ takes the MLE? Hopefully. Trier is a possible though. Again, I didn't try to make it work under the cap, at all.

I didn't put any cap thought into this, just entertained the idea of having KD, AD & Kawhi.

Though I figure any trade for AD has at least two picks going out, beside the #3 pick. Either Knicks picks or Mavs picks, and figure NO asks for, and gets, Mavs picks, at the least.

Would be nice to keep the Knicks picks for some future flexibility, but might not be possible while keeping Big Meech

Knicks just need to stand pat. I think the reason Griffin wants it done before the draft is so he can see what’s the best offer he can get before going all in on RJ and Zion. The optics and story with RJ and Zion wearing a pelicans hat on draft night will be amazing. Griffin knows this.

Knicks don't have that (the all star player)

But... They can offer two young players with All-Star potential (Mitch + RJ).

And much more than two first-round picks.

And they'd also likely get 2-3 of Knox, Frank, Dennis Smith Jr, or Trier as throw-ins to cap fill. Which aren't bad throw ins when you are talking about cap fillers.

Any chance the Suns want Dennis Smith Jr. + Frank for #6 lol?

Not that it matters....that much...
I guess?

He is from Louisville Kentucky.

Yep but Mitch Robinson is a Nawlins kid so i wonder if he'd rather go back home and play for the Pels or stay in New York.

It'll be Boston. The Lakers' assets are garbage, they're simply hyped up by their own franchise. There's literally nobody who'll ever be an all star among their kids.

Has all of that and where AD wants to go. Nobody is going to empty the cupboards for 1 year. The Raptors didn't do that. Neither did the Thunder.

Someone is probably going to acquire Beal/McCollum for New Orleans. Both teams need cap relief and New Orleans needs shooters. DeRozen also fits the mold but I think NO would be weary of the mental impact of him switching homes twice in 2 years. This makes too much sense. Beals asking price was reported at 2 picks, 1 young prospect and 1 other rotation player.

Trade 1: Ntilikina traded to Pho or Orl for a future heavily protected 1st

Trade 2: DSJ, Trier and 1st rnd pick + pick acquired via Orl/Pho

Trade 3: Beal + Barrett + 2020 Dallas Pick

All in all:

#3 Pick
2 Dallas Picks
DSJ
Ntilikina
Knox
Trier

I have no clue who we would have play PG. For that reason, we may even include Mitch over DSJ if we don't think that Kyrie is coming.

Remember when the Lakers went all in on Dwight?

He bounced.
What’s to say this guy AD wouldn’t do the same?

I don’t know man, I really wish Steve Mills was being real when he promised he wouldn’t do exactly this type of thing. Smh. It is what it is.

I see not being high on Frank, Smith, and Knox. Frank will likely transition to a defensive-specialist on the wing, which wasn't his ceiling when draft at #8. Knox is very inefficient. DSjr was a throwin in that Dallas deal.

But no love for Mitch? A NO native. I felt most of the league was high on him.

I still don't see the Lakers offer being that much more appealing. I like Kuzma. But I'm not high on Ingram (injury concerns) and Ball (Daddy issues). I'm guessing the Lakers will actually be able to get #6 for Ball?

Or maybe the Knicks informed the Pelicans that they don't want to include #3 AND Mitch. Who knows?

Unfortunately Lavert has shown more than any player we have. Maybe not DSJr.

No, you. Green Arrow's lineup doesn't need any work (beyond recruiting KD& Kawhi).

Your line up works per the cap the way I said.* Not sure if that is a deal that NOP take in the end, but it is about the best team NYK could end up with, imo.

Agreed with the last point - that's why I imagined one would have to send out more picks instead of Mitch.

* viz (nb: order is important): decline option on Trier; take up options on Garrett, Jenkins, Ellenson; renounce everything else (apart from Dotson); sign KD + Kawhi into cap space - leaving approx 2.2m; sign Trier into this space; trade #3, Knox, Smith, Garrett, Jenkins, Ellenson ands ome combo of future picks for Davis; sign DJ into the room MLE; sign Kadeem to the vet min.
