That rumoured NOP demand seems completely unrealistic to me. Maybe the Bucks would do Middleton + Brogdan - although I don't know what their pick situation is. But is Giannis+AD as good a fit as Giannis+Middleton+Brogdan? I assume Irving is gone from Boston and they have no other all-stars anyway. Could the Raptors do Lowry+OG? Maybe someone can sign&trade DWade or Dirk?

That would be pretty huge, imo. And could be one of the greatest tales in NBA history.

I just don't see how it's likely. GSW would need KD to perform offensively, as well as answer Kawhi defensively. The latter is unlikely after an injury.

I can see KD coming back and hitting shots. But Kawhi is still going to do his thing.

If KD even returns and makes things difficult, Kawhi and the Raptors have 3 chances to close things out.

If not doing a deal with LA (due to not loving their prospects) or Boton (due to Boston not being willing to move Tatum + Brown if Kyrie walks), their dream is to get their hands on:

Beal/McCollum, Barrett, Mitch and Dal's 2020 1st. That's a huge offer and way too much. But, that's the dream scenario that they're trying to convey.

if NO pushes for a pre-draft trade the knicks have a lot to consider. unless AD is the buddy KD wants, this would be a tough pill. both players are worthy of coming to your team and picking robins. but AD could walk no matter what.

knicks could conceivably work out a deal that gets beal to NO. but that's not the best fit with jrue not wanting to run point.

I was thinking that NO was the party to put out that Celtics alleged offer to drive up the price. I don't see the Celtics giving all that up for one year of AD without a commitment from him to extend, which I don't think he'll give.
