KD working feverishly behind the scenes on Kawhi? Uncle involved? To me I'm thinking Knicks want 1 of either AD or Kawhi to pair with KD. I think these are the top 2 plans with everything else a distant 3rd.
Full court press sending a bunch of players out there including RJ Barrett. Barrett not even working out for any other team.

Tim is a guy who will claim he was guarding his man while getting back doored

New Orleans is currently trying to fill a void left by the death of Jimmy "Scowling Grandpa Face" Johnson so THJr might be a fit, but then again I'm talking about the local street musician scene there and not the Pelicans.

Knox showed plenty of potential. GTFO with that crap about LeVert, who is injury prone, and Allen, who is an overrated young player at this point.
Knox, RJ and the Dallas picks. 4 picks and 2 might be high. Knox has third scorer potential behind Zion and RJ. Gimme a break
It's a very good offer. Otherwise kick rocks.
I suggest you just join the “Don’t trade for AD” club because that offer won’t do it & I don’t want you mad when the offer that comes out starts with Mitch & RJ.
I don't see a better offer from a team he'll sign with. But yeah, if Mitch is involved, I don't want the deal.

Berman being obtuse again. Nothing got harder. The Pelicans don't have a ton of options on where to trade AD and get return. Doesn't matter what is said in the media or not said.

looking at it another way, one might think of it as Griffin having set the upper limit of what he wants. It's a pretty ambitious upper limit, but "all-star potential" is essentially meaningless, and what they mean by all-star (unless it is exactly Beal) is unclear.
I can understand setting the limit really high so there is room for negotiating but asking for something the teams don't have can drive them away from the table so be counterproductive for the process.
I guess we'll see how it plays out.

the only teams I think that can supply word for word what Griffin wants is a team is like Portland. CJ, Zach Collins, and multiple first round picks (which will be bad pick value).
Even a team like the spurs sending DD, Lonnie Walker, another prospect they have plus a 1st rounder or two seems light because DD isn't that dude.
I think the key is Griffin asked for the moon and will eventually settle for something less. Unless its a 3 team trade where Beal goes to NOP and AD goes to knicks or lakers and Washington gets young assets but Washington doesn't even have a president to do anything.

Agreed. If you recall Dolan back in February said he was told two FA's and the kids are the complementary pieces.

How does Portland have what griffin wants? The offer you proposed doesn’t include an All star.

I mean Mccollum is pretty much an all-star in that definition.

Griffin has that he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room vibe to him. If I’m Pills, I’m not even tangling with him to help enhance his legend. No matter what, he wins. Can you imagine the noise next year around this time if we traded for AD and the season didn’t go as planned?

Re: Offseason Thread Continued - Atlanta Got Crabbes and We're Panicking
I could care less what NOP wants. They have very little leverage here.
With the Knicks...it's all about salary match. That means it's all about gutting the team. Pelicans will want Mitch. So...2 of Knox/DSJ/Frank...plus Mitch and #3...PLUS another pick or 2. Keeping Mitch weakens that package considerably. Was there a list of teams AD would agree to sign with? I can't remember.
Doing this by draft night? That's extremely risky for the Knicks. Gutting your team for AD...then no one else comes? Perry doesn't strike me as that guy.
Just being in the discussion for KD/KI/KL/AD and...having the potential to land at least 2 of them...is a far cry from where the team was 3 years ago. If they strike out in FA...they can stay the course in a rebuild. So...I don't see them trading for AD by draft night. Too risky. Unless other players give them back channel guarantees they want to join AD here.
Kawhi is the guy I want over everyone. Would love him and Klay(Not happening)...or KD. Then roll with the kids. Maybe move Frank(or another) for a pick to clear space for DJ to take less and play with KD? I don't see AD in the cards.
I'm not down with trading the farm for anyone. I don't care if we get max players either. So...win win for me. As long as we don't give out any THJr deals this summer...I'm good with whatever happens. It's an odd feeling being this nonchalant about the offseason. #3 pick and 2 max slots to go with a team full of kids to develop...plus a shyt load of picks. This has never happened before. Can't wait for the rumors and speculation to end.

give up tatum and multiple picks to have AD and no one on the roster with no guarantee he signs longterm there? Ainge wouldn't be that stupid. Especially with Kyrie already too feet out the door.

I actually think they have some leverage here, or at least as much as a team can with a guy who's going to be a FA. The Lakers are desperate to get AD, we saw that this season. They are probably going to bring the same offer as last time but now they can include the 4 pick. From all accounts, Ainge doesn't give a fu*k and will go for AD regardless of Kyrie being there. We are obviously contenders for AD. Also, given the PG/Kawhi stuff, teams might take the risk of trading for AD and trying to get him to re-sign.
Lastly, I think getting AD vastly increases the chances that we get FAs. I don't see trading away the assets we have as gutting the team. It's hard to "gut" a 17 win team. Losing RJ and Mitch would hurt, but that's about it, at least for me. Can't let those guys stop you from getting AD in his prime.
