If KD is wet tonight, prepare for:

>the injury is fake
>the script has been set
>this is going 7 for maximum ratings

re: 3-1 comebacks

-The Raptors are coached by Nurse, not Scott Brooks
-Warriors don't have Lebron
-Raptors aren't relying on the composure of Russell Westbrook
-Neither Kyle nor Pascal are suspended for game 5.

We good...

Are the Russians helping the Warriors? I'm not sure I see the association. James Comey is a referee?

I just hope the officiating is better this game. Game 4 was bad, Game 2 and 3 were horrendous.

Not only does it make the game worse but this thread becomes trash. 90% of posts become either fan base complaining about the refs, or complaining about posters complaining....

I wouldn't be shocked if KD was ready to go in game 3 or 4 but decided not to. The Warriors can't beat the Raptors without him, they should have been swept tbh, and Durant wanted the whole world to see that. Now that everyone knows that, if he leads them back from a 3-1 deficit, he can put all those whispers to bed about them being better without him. This works for Warriors fans too, because if everyone from his teammates, to the media, to the fans, acknowledges him as the alpha and best player, I think he'd be more inclined to stay. That said, the Raptors have 3 tries to put these guys away including 2 at home, I think they'll get the job done.

Get all the hate/butthurt out of your system GB.

Can just see all the sad ass posters who should be concerned with their franchise's success relish in the hopes of a Raptors' loss...it's quite pathetic lol

If this goes 7, this will be the cope from Raptors fans over the next 3 games:

Game 5:
>haha series is already over bros, no way Durant will be 100% and Kahwi can shut him down anyway

Game 6:
>it’s fine, we have literally won every road game so far, we got this. They just blindsided us that’s all

Game 7:
>o-okay n-now that Nick Nurse has had time to make adjustments to this new Warriors team with Durant and we’re at home, we can still win

After Warriors win in 7
>so rigged, refs screwed us, drake curse...whatever, we’re a hockey country anyways

Every team's master plan is to lose 3 of the first 4 games in a best of 7 series. Always a recipe for success. This is 5D chess.

So much hate in this thread today. I just see a great dramatic matchup with great storylines. May the best team win(neither team is my team, but I'm rooting for the Raptors). It's got me thinking of the old NBA on NBC - I mean, with the drama surrounding both teams - Raptors having a chance to win it all, Durant returning - this is the kind of game they would've thrived on. Those of you old enough to remember know what I'm talking about. Imagine hearing this in Bob Costas's voice, and then Roundball Rock:

Three years ago, Kevin Durant stunned the world when he decided to join a Golden State Warrior team that had already scaled the game's highest mountain and broke records that were thought to be unbreakable[cut to shot of Warriors celebrating in 2015]. Together, Durant and the Warriors steamrolled to back-to-back championships, all the while weathering the scorching criticism of a public that thought one of the greatest players of his generation had taken the easy way out, and that one of the greatest teams of its era didn't need him to win. But those claims have been put to the test as Durant has missed a month of action to injury in the midst of the Warriors' quest for a mythical threepeat, a feat accomplished by only a scarce few teams in the league's history[cut to slow-mo clips of Russell/Cousy, Jordan/Pippen, Shaq/Kobe]. Without him, they have made it back to the finals, but that ultimate goal is slipping away as the Warriors are pushed to the brink by the Eastern Conference Champion Toronto Raptors, led by Kawhi Leonard.

Kawhi Leonard never thought he'd be a Raptor, wasn't sure he wanted to be a Raptor when he was traded here last year. But one of the game's greatest players in his own right, he has led them on an improbable run to the league's second best regular season record and, after years of playoff heartbreak for the Raptors[cut to shots of Raptors losing to Cavs in years' past], their first ever NBA Finals[cut to shot of Raptors celebrating after game 7 vs Milwaukee]. But they are not happy just to be here. After holding their home court in the first two games, these Raptors surprised the two-time defending champions by stealing a win on the road, taking a commanding 3-1 series lead - a hole only one team has ever climbed out of in the Finals[cut to clips from game 4] - and drawing within one game of their elusive first-ever NBA championship, a monumental opportunity not just for Toronto, but for Canada at large[cut to shot of Jurassic Park, and of fans in Montreal, Vancouver, etc].

But now, back in Toronto, with his team one game away from defeat, and potentially the end of an era, Kevin Durant is poised to make his return to the court. A franchise turns its weary eyes to Kevin Durant, and a nation turns its lonely eyes to Kawhi Leonard. With a championship on the line and two free agencies on the horizon, the stakes couldn't be higher. Will Durant's return be enough to keep the Warriors of the West, the NBA's reigning dynasty, alive to fight another day, and in the process help enhance his fragile legacy, or will the King In The North take his throne, and his place in the NBA's, Toronto's, and Canada's history?

Raptors, Warriors, game 5, next.

May god help you all, Raptors fans. I couldn’t imagine being 1 win from a championship then having Kevin Durant walk through that door. I’d be very worried if I were you guys.

If Durant leads them back from a 3-1 deficit, not only will it cement his legacy as the “leader” of a 3-peat & the second ever to come back in the finals from 3-1 but he’ll most likely stay in GS too.

Sh*t just picked up.

Not gonna lie I kinda do want to see the Warriors make a 3-1 comeback just for the memes alone. If Toronto loses tonight, I think they’re in a bit of trouble.

I thank Steve Kerr for putting on the court yet another target for the Raptors to attack on offence. We already chased Boogie from the floor showing him to be completely unready to play. A gimpy KD having Pascal and Kawhi's running circles around him...it will be like playing 5 on 3 tonight in the Raptors favor.
