The only legitimate info we have on players' heights are from combine measurements. The NBA doesn't care about the accuracy of listed heights at all. Players more or less get to pick what they want within reason. Durant being the best example still listed at 6'9".

Actually there was an article recently stating that with sports betting being legalized in areas, the NBA was concerned about player height being accurate as they needed to be more accurate to avoid issues with gambling being legal. So the nba is actually looking into it and has a concern.

If that’s true that’s great to hear. The league should just do height measurements before the beginning of each season (i’d even be fine with “in shoes” measurements since, you know… players don’t play barefoot). The fact that RPM factors height into its calculation when listed heights aren’t accurate to begin with is foolish to me.

Steph Curry, who is usually considered small by NBA standards, is bigger than all of my friends and family members.

The tallest guy I knew personally worked in the copy room of a law office I used to work at and he was a regular white guy that was 6'8 and had really bad knees and never played any sports. Its amazing to me that you see guys that are even taller and that are so athletically gifted. They really are super-humans.

Yep, I agree that this does a better job of putting things into perspective.

Isaiah Thomas is average height. Chris Paul is on the taller side. Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry are tall in a way that clearly stands out in real life. Kawhi Leonard is in freakishly tall territory.
