Yes... he'll be out a year and wont play again until he's 32. We're onto AD and Kemba as our primary options.

Me too. Saw it happen with Arsenal's captain Laurent Koscielny. He strained it once and then it became a recurrence for the next 3-4 years to the point that it affected how much he could train and had him missing weeks at a time a couple of times a season. Then last year it finally ruptured completely to no one's surprise.

just reading my twitter timeline, it doesn't sound good. hope for the best, but even if something is torn/ruptured, it could be a lingering issue.
tbh, makes me even less inclined to trade #3 for AD. Wings (with guard skills) dominate todays game, not bigs....plus I love mitch and I think AD is best at the 5 anyways

Hmm. Looks like a poor decision by him to trying to play on that.

That video of KD walking back to the locker room makes me confident that he didn't tear anything...he was clearly pushing off on his right foot

Golden State annoy me.
Light skinned volleyball lookin’ arses.
Kyle and Marc are some of my favorite all time non Knick warriors, pardon the pun. And I know there are all kinds of ramifications for us in the result of this series....
With that said, I want Golden State to embarrass these fools for the classless way they reacted to KD getting hurt. Like wow man, I hate this world more and more everyday. And funny, I was watching when him and Vanvleet had their dust up and I thought to myself, “son really LOVE the game....” then to see this get snatched from him after his very public battle to get back on the court is just sad.
And how those fans acted? Disgusting. In every way.
No excuse. They understand the game enough to know it’s not a like guy getting tossed for two techs or something light to celebrate...it’s real life.
But if there are basketball gods....make it right.

How is that better than Blake Drummond? If that's the alternative, I don't want anyone. Then, we keep rebuilding.

Same here. I wanted to keep the kids if we got Zion. We didn’t, so if we got two top tier guys, I was all in AD.
No KD likely means no 2nd top tier FA which should mean sign AD in 2020 if you can even get a meeting

Agree with that. It looks more like a partial tear to me. Either way, he's going to need surgery if there's any tear of the achillies

From the GB. Everyone has a take
More random twitter "insider" guy talking AD deal yesterday...
Apparently he has called some NOP deals in the past and may have connections, who the hell knows...
McCollum, Collins, #12 pick and probably more picks of some sort to New Orleans
Turner to Charlotte
Batum and Davis to Portland
Interesting idea, seems to check off a number of Griffin's reported desires.

Yeah. I really like the Raptors as a team. They're likable individually and they play smart and hard but what those fans did was absolutely gross. Like I get that seeing KD go down represents a drastic increase in the odds of winning your first ring but that was just sickening and so I want them to be humiliated at home in Game 7.

yeh and there is a close up video of the injury that doesn't look good at all but at the end of the day, if he did rupture his achilles he wouldn't be able to push off when walking. And that video of him walking clearly showed him pushing off on both sides. So I'll have to stick to it not being a rupture

Do NOT make a deal for AD now. This KD injury is a blow to our plans. Develop our young guys, maybe pick up some vets and put an end to this tank job.

yeh thats the video... it doesn't look good at all, but I still find it odd that he would be able to push off when he was walking back to the locker room, unless I wasn't looking carefully enough. But it looked pretty clear to me that he was pushing off with a grimace.

I agree with you. He looked like he was lifting the foot as well. So, it's a little bit odd because that would be impossible with a torn achilles. That's what makes me think that it's a partial tear.

If you watch vid of the Kobe Achilles tear, he's able to walk on it too, somewhat gingerly though.

yup, I agree
it shows him walking starting at about 1:05... tbh looking at it again, it doesn't look that good. It looks like his push off looks very weak, as if he's compensating a bit with no pain.... and no pain usually means a full rupture.
Hopefully our initial thought it right though

The main difference is that Kobe was clearly not pushing off and compensating with excessive knee and hip bend while keeping his foot flat the whole time. btw when I said excessive, I don't mean like he was bending a crazy amount but it was enough to compensate for the lack of push off
KD had a bit of a push off but that could've just been gravity making it look like he was pushing off.
The fact that KD had very little to no pain is kinda scary though
