I guarantee KD wanted to play

So what? Athletes want to compete even if it's not good for them. It shouldn't be their decision. That's why teams have doctors and trainers.

Like I said before...Steve Kerr needed to shut that **** down from the start. Shoot down any expectation that KD was to come back...and let the man heal in peace. Instead...we get daily updates which builds anticipation. Medical staff should have been firm with KD as well.

Playing with a incompletely healed calf strain is begging for a ruptured achilles. To everyone who says that KD at 70% is better than Alfonso McKinnie at 100%...SMH.

Some, don't feed this narrative that all raptor fans were cheering because that's bull. It was gross and wrong that even one cheered but it wasn't everyone.

So does it make it an Achilles strain or partial tear before, instead of calf?

Does Bob Myers not know this before tonight?

Dude might opt in because of this. Sure, he may well get a max contract despite him not playing most if not all of next season, but you may as well just stay where you are and heal up.

Good lord. If TO can play in a SB on a broken leg, in a sport where devastating injury actually is common then KD playing a basketball game, with a strained calf, in a win or go home situation shouldnt see this type of reaction

Why did they clear him, there were red flags all around. That was a terrible decision, and this falls on the medical team for clearing him.

Praying he gets a full recovery
You hate to see something like that happen to a guy who loves to play the game

Naw. They almost certainly missed a strain or minor tear IMO.

I don't think they missed anything. He had an icepack on his Achilles last week. This just seems like a classic case of devaluing a player's future over team success. Hopefully that decision was mostly made by KD and not heavily coerced.

...if he has a full tear he's not opting out. This effects KD Kyrie and perhaps Butler depending on who you ask. Now there's actually a plausible scenario where Irving and KD stay in Boston and GSW for another year.

Soldier?! KD will never be the same, see Kobe Bryant.KD is 30 turning 31 with alot of miles on his legs, this may be the end of his career as the best player in the NBA. There should be hell to pay for destroying someone's career while still on their prime by negligence and faulty diagnosis.

No one forced KD to play. Let’s put this nonsense to rest. The only person that makes that call is KD at the end of the day.

I’m not saying Bob Meyers tied KDs shoelaces but it’s pretty clear that there was “pressure” for him to play. Durant relies on Meyers and the medical staff - it’s called trust. They betrayed that trust by allowing him to go out there knowing his Achilles was weak

Myers saying first was calf and this was achilles.

I feel bad for Warriors, Durant and Meyers (he legitimately looked distraught) but I don't know if I beleive him.

So unfortunate.

I think KD may opt in now. Seems like the smart move.
