Isn't there a manual diagnostic test a doctor can do to confirm achilles tear or not? Based on movement?

Media wanted him back just as much. They wouldn’t shut up about him playing since Saturday. They should feel guilty too.

The doctors who cleared him are probably the most to blame in all seriousness. It’s not like what he was doing when he hurt it wasn’t typical basketball motions performed in a game.

Ironic and sad that the event that will change KD’s legacy is not winning a championship on a different team but through this injury...

WOW.

I mean...wow. This Warriors run, or limp, or stumble toward the end of their dynasty has been compelling for all the wrong reasons. What are the odds of all this happening?

Want to hear KD’s take on this if he did in-fact feel pressured. **** awful either way.

he doesnt have to opt in, we'd give him a 5 year max if he wants it.

No one forced KD to play. Let’s put this nonsense to rest. The only person that makes that call is KD at the end of the day.

I’m not saying Bob Meyers tied KDs shoelaces but it’s pretty clear that there was “pressure” for him to play. Durant relies on Meyers and the medical staff - it’s called trust. They betrayed that trust by allowing him to go out there knowing his Achilles was weak

It was a collaborative decision though.

I don't know. You might be reaching a bit.

**** happens.

Really wish he didn’t play at all, such a terrible injury for KD.

I mean. If it was really collaborative in the sense you didn’t pressure him, he wanted to play, multiple doctors including his own personal doctors concurred he was fit, then quit looking so guilty. That looked like a dude who forced the team doctor to pressure him in. I’m not saying that’s at all the case, and it will be horrible if it’s a torn Achilles, but either he’s lying or he’s acting way guiltier than necessary if what he says is true.

I don't get why people are acting like KD just died. This isn't David Ortiz. He did not have a have some gruesome compound fracture or even a torn ACL. He maybe has a torn achilles. He will be come back and still be a great player.

Damn. I wonder if teams will still offer him a 4 or 5 year max.

If not, he becomes the 2nd cautionary tale of playing while hurt in a contract season (IT being the first)

I hope he really did know the risk and the people around him made him aware of the likelihood of this happening. But regardless, he showed a lot of heart today coming back with his impending free agency. He could've just mailed it in.

The question is did they know it all along? Is it even possible not to know it was an achilles injury?

I think the Warriors organization owes it to him to sign him to a huge extension. Take of him...he gave his all for you after all.

This is on management. They got their win, but lost their biggest weapon. Cleared him to play for selfish reasons. I question if they ever cared for the player more than game itself.
