Trust me brother.

I agree that it is most likely a tear. But the title of the thread makes it sound like Shams is reporting it is a tear. Which is not the case.

This is what I understood as well from the thread title

You’re free to believe nothing will come out of this, I think something will be done about this by Durant and his camp.

You think they put a gun to his head or something? WHAT AM I READING ??!?!?!?!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Clearly you don’t understand English. All I said was that action will be taken for clearing an injured guy to play. Why are you on realGM anyway? Kawhi ended your hopes and dreams weeks ago

I am. The Warriors definitely have some fault here. There's a reason why Myers said "if you want to blame anyone, blame me". The NBA needs to do a full investigation here. This could set a dangerous precedent.

Not what I'm questioning. He obviously feels guilty. Gimme a break with the fake crying.

You're right about that. That was insensitive. I apologize for that.

KD got pressured into playing by the "Frustrated Warriors". They owe him big time.

Ironically I think it could.

I was suspicious of him hoping to score the homeroom of narrative busting -- riding back in on his white horse to rescue his Warriors down 3-1 in the Finals, and leading them to a 3 game sweep and a title.

But the second best thing he could do for his narrative? Play hurt, get injured while toughing it out and taking one for the team.

But I can also say as a Boogie fan that there are limits -- the hardest core haters are just going to stow it away for later. Wait until its more appropriate, then they will be back sensing blood. I think this will really cork some of the media driven narrative as they're going to feel compelled to express sympathy, but for fans committed to KD as antichrist, they'll be back.

Man KD was on a path imo where I think he could make a strong case as a top 10 player of all time since I definitely saw the warriors winning if he was healthy and then I could see him doing a Lebron like championship win like he did with the Cavs possibly with the Knicks and that would get every hater to shut up about him. Sucks to see that kind of talent go down with an injury and then have his best years cut short.

KD is a grown ass man and would know his body better than anybody, he didn't look like a guy who was forced to play. KD isn't stupid and I don't think he was tricked, it's a shame people have to point fingers over such a terrible thing. Can't question the guy's heart any more.

I just hope people understand Kawhi's position now. You can't always trust team doctors will do what's best for you, even if they previously had a good history and reputation prior to that.

A torn Achilles is up there with the worst NBA injuries. Sure he can comeback, but probably will be significantly worse.

Kobe came back as a shell of his former-self after his Achilles rupture. I’m hoping Durant can come back from this.

One thing durant has going for him is that he's 30 years old, Kobe was 33 with way more minutes played. The younger you are, the better you heal. Kobe also had like a million minutes played and his body overall was starting to fail him, not just his achilles.

sue? on what grounds? forced to play? that's nonsense

He can try to sue the team medical staff that gave him medical clearance to play. You don't have to be a doctor to see that he should not been out there. It was not rocket science. This was gross negligence by the GS organization.

Honest question...

Should Bob Myers be reprimanded for this?

Well, did the doctors clear him? I mean it has to be on them ultimately. The guy had a calf injury and clearly playing on it lead to this which is pretty bad, but you never know with these things.

my guess is they probably weren't clear to him that a torn Achilles was a very real possibility if he played

if i recall correctly, Kerr said he was told by the doctors that there was no worry about a potential achilles injury, only worry was re injuring his calf.
If thats the case, then there is a problem

No one forced KD to play. Let’s put this nonsense to rest. The only person that makes that call is KD at the end of the day.

really? do you not remember how kawhi was ostracized by both the spurs AND the media for a full year? kawhi was strong enough to stand his ground. KD may not have been. media is complicit in all this too. absolutely awful situation and gsw are fully responsible here b/c how many players and athletes say they can play, even when hurt? many do - it's up to the org to say no. but they were more worried about this series.

F that org.

Not likely. Sports players are usually treated differently since they take the "assumption of the risk" in playing the sport. For example, police officers can't usually sue people if they get hurt on the job since it's a risk they took by taking a dangerous job.

Injuries for a sports player would require a very high standard of care breach by the team, it would have to be something that "shocks the conscience". Unlikely here.
