If KD was staying in GS what do you think were the odds he would have played tonight? Think very low, KD wanted to play to prove to people the W’s needed him, to prove he wasn’t soft, and probably some feeling of his lien guilt for leaving and causing the chaos he caused this year, and it was an awful decision that probably winds up crushing the Knicks a lot more than the W’s

We have cap. Why do we need an expiring to trade?

For even more trades for even more picks. We're wasting $7m a year in dead money. That's $7m less than we can bring in in bad contracts.

True, but that's really nothing in the big scheme of things when you have $75M to work with.

why? lock in 4 years or lock in 1 year? If he was coming why not come anyway and the knicks will be patient with him and he doesn't have an expiring contract to worry about...

The way Bob Meyers explained it made it seem that KD was not aware that anything was torn prior to tonight. Can KD trust their medical staff ever again?

Warriors look guilty as f*ck...u have your pres of basketball ops crying...man up you know what you did to KD.

I was always told, guilty people look and act guilty. He looked guilty AF

Only the Knicks could lose in the nba finals without playing in the finals in 20

what a garbage franchise - willing to risk this mans career. then to sit up there with turtle tears. and it looks like the cheaped out on their medical staff this year, too.

I think we know what kd is going to do not going to trust the warrior he is going to use his own doctors the second time around. He is going to get advice from his agent and from his family who to trust, but why waste your cap money for 4 years when he is not going to play for the entire year.

82 > 75.

Functionally irrelevant.

I don't think we should have stretched Noah, but in terms of trading for bad deals, there is nothing you can do with $82M that you can't do with $75M.

because we aren't in a position to turn down a talent like KD even if he isn't hurt. There are only a few players worth giving the max. We can still develop the young guys and let KD rehab at the same time. Your investing into KD regardless.

We're talking KD @ 4 years, 171,908,173 for the Warriors... How could they put that much on the line? They're a tax team. This is over a 200 million dollar decision. Its awful. I don't think that KD has a choice but to opt in. I think there's going to be A LOT of bad blood coming very soon once the ramifications of this become clear to KD.

As a Knicks fan, the worst part about this whole situation is going to be when it is confirmed by every meaningful writer that Durant's plan was to sign with the Knicks, and Davis had the Knicks at the top of the list because of that, but they get neither now because of the injury.

And while that will sting for a long time, at least Perry has done a good enough job to make it so there is still a positive direction with a path to relevancy even with losing out on those big guys.

Yeah KD is already on the wrong side of 30

Man this is messed up Hope it's not career ending but you guys are right he will never be the same. I'm a big Cousins fan and it's hard to even watch him now. Boogie is just a shell of what he was after he tore his ACL

You're committing a third of your cap for 4 years to a player who is recovering from a ruptured achilles on the wrong side of 30?

Kleiman basically admitted it tonight by saying the nba changed tonight by this injury

Yes we are. He's going to be 32 when he plays again. Cousins took almost exactly 1 year to play again. One year from now, KDs season will be over. He'll turn 32 at the start of the next season.
