You know what’s crazy? The media will find a way to call us idiots and blame Dolan somehow for this.

I don't see Perry giving KD a max now. If he sits out next season then he will be 32 the following year when he returns, and probably on a decline with a major injury to rehab from. That's too risky after the Amare and Noah contracts we had to deal with.

Unless Kawhi wants to come here the best option is to keep rebuilding through the draft and see how the season goes. There always something wacky that happens no one would have ever predicted, maybe we get a player that way too.

I will say, KD has the type of game that can still be lethal even after losing a step. The only thing this might change is that he has to become 1b to the 1a that we also bring in (whether that's Kawhi, AD, or someone else - idk if Kyrie can really be the 1a).

Brogdon without a star player to play next to will look worse than Shandon Anderson.

That's silly. Shandon couldn't shoot, for one.

He's a piece. A solid starter. You get him. Maybe you still pay Durant. Then we've got our young pieces that you get to build up. Maybe get another top one next year in a better draft. All of a sudden you have a bunch of stuff you can actually use in trades.

Yeah, I think the Knicks would rather have him opt in and re-evaluate him next offseason.

Surprised why they don’t just announce the Achilles is ruptured, the dr’s know right away without needing an mri..what’s the reason for the cover up..they all know the results.

Makes perfect sense for KD to opt in and spend the year rehabbing try to be back for another playoff run and prove he’s healthy for another max the following summer.. isn’t amazing that it always feels like the Knicks are always in wait and see mode..let’s wait a year for this guy, or that guy..

I'm not giving any portion of serious money to a role player on a team filled with role players.

The guy is 27 years old. He has no upside.

Keep building with what you have. Take a chance on some young guys who have been miscast or never given a chance and keep building through the draft. There is no need to spend money recklessly when it won't help you in any way.

There's also no reason to still pay a 31 year old Durant coming off a devastating career-altering injury.

It's time to shift focus on 2021. Be competitive until then, maintain flexibility, add assets. Giannis (26), Beal (28), Gobert (29), Lillard (31), George (31), McCollum (30), Oladipo (29)

I think we have to:

1) Forget about Durant if it is a tear.

2) Try to sign AD, Leonard and maybe a young FA like RFA Brogdon and RFA DLo (nice value).

3) If we sign one of players above, we can think about to bring Butler, Irving or Kemba.

4) If we strike out, run with the young core, get picks and good cost controlled assets.

Chances of keeping Mitchell just went up. And that is a major silver lining.

I knew it was going to be a stupid move for KD to try and play through the injury. This could be a blessing for the Knicks though if they do decide to still sign KD. It might give us one more development season to organically build the team while he is out. Leonard should be the main focus now though. Maybe this pushes the Knicks to get AD or Beal more now.

This is what happens when you build your team around getting mercenaries.

How about, establish a core yourself and use FA to supplement it?
