i feel bad for durant, but this is a blessing in disguise.

don't see why knicks fans are upset about this. just saved them...hopefully.

but at least now the knicks will finally go youth, hopefully, and rebuild the right way for long term success, rather than 1 or 2 years of playoffs, and not getting out of the second round

D’Angelo Russell — Dennis Smith Jr.
R.J. Barrett — Allonzo Trier
Kevin Knox — ???????
Julius Randle
Mitchell Robinson — Luke Kornet

I’d rather Russell over Kemba since the age disparity is huge. Kid still has growing to do and pretty near elite.

Kevin Knox is going to take the next step. And RJ Barrett will also be a scoring threat right away. That’s a playoff team.

Not a bad plan, I’d rather Kawhi in there but this isn’t a bad alternative. Betting big on russel or rj to be superstar though or else we’re running in place for 5 years with 40-45 win ceilings

RJ is almost 100% now. HopE all the youth take a massive leap. I didn’t want it to go down like this but it is what it is.

I could see KD opting into his deal this year. Might make the most sense. God, stretching Noah was useless.

it perplexes me how other "fans" here forget that this happened. it's like **** groundhog's day on this board. there aren't enough walls on this planet for me to run my head into based on what some people are saying here.

He should try and get a long max deal. He could still get it here. While he doesn't play we continue to lose and draft.

He will get a contract from Golden State though. They are after all a class organization and I'm convinced they weren't hiding any minor tear from Durant that he wouldn't have looked for himself. Durant knew what he was doing and sadly, the public had made him want to prove he's no cupcake. Even until the injury he was plain dominant. It just tore, that's worse than could be expected.

I am for Team Rebuild and all but can’t help realizing how the Warriors have screwed us on multiple occasions.

Nabbing Curry right before us, cutting in front of us to get Kerr and now ruining our chances of getting a peak KD.

Not saying it’s the right move. But I still see Durant leaving. He needs to secure the $$$. If the Knicks plan on rebuilding, I can see the Knicks throwing the max at him to rehab the year and go at it 2020-21.

Get another top 5 pick. Our youth develops. Still have the 2021 Mavs pick which could easily be a lottery pick. And hopefully Durant can succeed like Kobe did and note, Kobe’s knees were shot, so I think he can overcome this.

Pretty risky, I’d be 50/50 for it.

Maybe we pursue Kyle Oquin? Resign Vonleh. Go after Julius Randle? We need a PF and one who won’t hijack the offense. KO can be a solid addition and provide shot blocking and passing and be much cheaper than resigning DJ.

We’re cursed simple put.
Everyone out here saying “oh let’s rebuild” so quickly without any type of mourning is incredible. Doesn’t sound like you wanted Durant in the first place.
This isn’t losing Zion, losing Zion was math and the math wasn’t in our favor.
Kevin Durant, the best player in the world, intended to sign the Knicks this offseason and he tore his Achilles in the NBA finals.
We were there - we almost did it. We were about to turn the corner from ”imcompetent” knicks.

Honesty since they both have to improve their jumpers... ja would be a better fit with ad and kd

KD to the Knicks is over.

His career is done and if it's not, he's a year away from being not the player he was.

At this point, I'm not 100% sure the AD trade happens either. Unless the Knicks have some magical insight into the mind of Kawhi.
Why would AD want to join some depleted bum squad? He could stay in NO for that.

I suspect will be seeing a tweet any day now that states: "AD has narrowed down his choices of team to The Lakers"

Look at the video, kds injury doesn’t seem to be the Kobe kind. It is probably a minor tear that takes a couple of months to heal.

Now, if you are correct and he did completely rip his Achilles, the I’m with you.

I have always said this. We go all in or all out. No halfway nonsense, we spit out that is lukewarm.
