I am by no means a Raptors fan but I am a people fan and trying to run down a fanbase because of some hyped up morons is really not fair.

All I have to say to all this is how common is it to hear and see a couple thousand fans cheering on and waving off an injured player? That's not normal, cool, or acceptable.

I don't get why people assume you have to literally name every fan of the team and show they're a bad person to say a fanbase is toxic for their actions as a fanbase.

Outside of Philly and Boston (both known for having the worst fanbases in the 2 other major professional sports) who else has done this?

Fam could you honestly see that scene happening in Madison Square Garden? I've been watching basketball since the early 90s, and I can say with 100% certainty that I could not fathom that ever happening there.

Don't need the names of every fan, just looking for one poster.

What other evidence do you have to suggest that Raptors fanbase are toxic? Is it just this or are there more incidents?

Do I need any other evidence other than thousands of them cheering for an injury? How about this for evidence then, fans like you defending it and attempting to act like it isn't a big deal.

You sure are on a mission. It doesn't matter how many idiots cheering that you post it still won't represent the whole fan base. No one is defending the people who cheered for an Injury What are you trying to prove? I'm not sure I understand your point anymore.

Still waiting for any video evidence of Raptors fans not cheering when the injury happened. So far all I've seen in videos is that majority's first instinct was to cheer.. the only difference is that the ones inside the arena got shamed into changing their cheers to his injury to a support chant a few mins later.. the ones outside never got that memo and continued to celebrate.

I am not trying in any shape and form to minimize what SOME of our fans did last night by cheering KD's injury. I watched it 10 times and yes it was disgusting. KD's sitting on the floor, without his face showing any discomfort or pain, getting up like he is trying to shake it off could have fooled some of them to think that it's nothing serious (mind you a lot of these casual fans may not know his real injury history). Also not to mention the fact that much bigger number were cheering him and chanting his name while he was walking to the locker, is not fair. AND AGAIN NOT TRYING TO EXCUSE SHAMEFUL reaction, just trying to provide the context.

So there has to be a theory as to why Toronto fans would respond that way, but others wouldn't.

I don't know why Toronto fans decided that someone's safety and health were less important than getting a leg up in a game that their team went on to ultimately lose. I can't answer that.

Exactly, you can't. Because humans are humans and every fanbase would have reacted the same way.

No, they would not...we've seen hundreds of injuries over the years and I am sitting here racking my brain to come up with a moment that's even comparable outside of stuff that happened in Boston and Philly...I think that you are projecting.

Dudes literally erupted with joy and elation as soon as Durant couldn't put pressure on his leg.

Well that's not basketball and they don't have an NBA team at all in KC. Either way Chiefs fans are known for being some of the worst fans in the NFL so you're not helping yourself here.

Can you show me where he defended it? Saying its not a whole fan base is not the same as defending the idiots who did something wrong. Why don't you see to get this? I know it doesn't fit your narrative that we are all bad but at some point you have see that no one is defending them and only saying it wasn't everyone.

Right, so Toronto is some magical weird place where people for some reason react differently. That sounds really logical.

You asked a question and i answered.
Helping myself? What exactly do i need to help myself about? I didn't cheer for him to get injured and have said those who did are morons and a embarrassment. Not every Raptor fan or person who lives in Toronto is the same as those idiots who cheered. Thinking they are is flat out stupid and ignorant.

TBF we have not seen any injuries as important or as impactful as this one this late in the finals. I mean, this basically dooms the Warriors and guarantees the Raptors win. Golden State were smoking the Raps and then KD went down and everything changes.

I'm sorry, most fanbases don't erupt with cheers, taunts, and laughter when a player gets up and can't even walk properly.

When the team's own PLAYERS have to step up and tell the fans to stop there is something seriously awful going on. Don't try to project this stuff onto other fanbases because it doesn't happen like it did last night.

Aaah! Thanks for clarifying. Here I was thinking this was shameful human behavior regardless of the context. But now that you have clarified the importance of this injury and justified their behavior, it makes me feel better. My faith in humanity is restored!

Raps fans are awesome. Sorry I ever doubted you! Keep cheering on KD's injury, cuz you know, it's the finals. You deserve it!

No but it's making an irrelevant point and attempting to redirect the conversation from the actions of the large amount of people cheering on his injury. You don't have to explicitly say an action is good to defend that action, you can do that just fine by redirecting the conversation.

I'm an Eagles fan, you'll never catch me defending the Eagles fanbase as a whole though because they're pretty vile fans. You apparently need to get yourself out that same tribalism. Being a fan of the team that doesn't agree with the way they reacted should make you care even more about how they acted.

I've never seen **** like that in New York (and i'm using the Knicks as a comparison because they have a huge fanbase comparable to Toronto's). Ever. And I hate the Knicks but living in this area I've been to the Garden dozens of times and have watched god knows how many Knicks games over the last few decades and I've never seen any **** like that before in my life (specifically, cheering that a player was seriously injured).

Hey I definitely hooted when he pulled up lame. I didn't notice that he completely blew it out...but still bad on me.

But all the warriors know that they've been pressuring the hell out of KD to return this series or forever be known as a pussy, so any anger they're showing at Toronto fans is just covering their own guilt.

Wait so when someone claims a whole fanbase is toxic and horrible human beings no one can refute that because SOME of them are idiots because to you that is redirecting? All you are doing is building up a argument and then saying no one can discuss it or even point out that not everyone is guilty of what some people did. Do you not see the problem with that?
