Charlotte is in a great spot to improve their fortunes, even without Kemba.

Derrick Rose and Thomas Heurtel can fill Kemba’s void if he leaves.

The expiring contracts and cap space can allow them to acquire cost effective and useful front court players.

Things are looking up.

The front court can be upgraded. IQ, athleticism, rebounding, rim protection, shooting.

There are players out there.

Cheick Diallo
Anthony Randolph
Nicolo Melli
Khem Birch
Ekpe Udoh
Jan Vesely

At 22 years old, just as useful as anyone that could be drafted at 12.

If the Nets are about to land Kyrie I hope Mitch goes all-in to get Russell here. He helped the Nets clear Mozgov last summer so they could be in this position and he drafted Russell. So get on the phone Mitch and find out who the Nets like in this draft and keep that in mind with the 12th pick. So when/if Kyrie becomes a Brooklyn Net you can offer their choice of our expiring contracts and the 12th pick for a Russell sign and trade.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I would rather have Russell as my PG than Kyrie.

A few years from now yeah I agree, but not as of right now.

If Mitch can't get Russell though the next player I'd target is Myles Turner. The Pacers can't play him with Sabonis and they need help on the perimeter. So I'd offer them Zeller and Monk and see how far off that is for them.

If Kemba is going to retire a Hornet it's time for Mitch to go big or go home.

Sign Nikola Vucevic
Salary dumping and rescinding must happen, of course.

Vucevic, Diallo, and Melli dramatically and cost effectively improves the front court.

I think Lamb and Marvin Williams would be great pieces for the Nuggets, Blazers and Warriors, I wonder if any of them could get us anything interesting

As a notion:
Kemba Walker on, Denver. Wow!
That non guaranteed 30 million owed Milsap would make it possible.

I can't see him and Murray together and think Murray is a better fit considering the age of the other stars

Considering age, Kemba doesn’t fit the other stars of the Hornets.

Also, the Hornets don’t have any stars for him to not fit.

If he doesn’t team with greater talent that fits his development/age, what is the point of his competitive basketball life at this stage? (if not competing to win a title?)

You raise valid concerns regarding fit. Kemba’s facing an existential crisis.

I was arguing from Denver's perspective, I hope we bring him back and he retires a hornet for life

I understand the truth of the premise you brought up about age/development and fit.

That’s how the truth works.

The age/development fit problems that would exist in Denver would exist in Charlotte.

Also, Charlotte doesn’t have any stars and the players are in a different age/development stage.

His existential crisis is unavoidable. What is the point of my competitive life?

Really hope we target Jeremy Lin in Free Agency, he will be overlooked after not getting off the bench for the Raptors, would love to get him for like 3yrs/$10 mil total

Since tearing his patella I don't think Lin has anything left.

Agreed. Lin is cooked at this point. I'm happy he got a ring but his competitive career is over

Yup, one of the worst injuries in sports. You're never the same after that, it's worse than Achilles (far more painful from what I understand as well). I'm a Giants fan and watched the end of Victor Cruz after that injury. Sucks.
