Yes the Knicks won't be good but they will improve. We have a solid front office.

We should build to be good enough where free agent will help us as oppose to saving us.

We did?

Yea the front office did unless what they told the press was bull.

I think the Knicks & KD are both too invested regardless of the severity of the injury.

This is why I was gauging opinions here. If we had a handshake deal, would we look like the bad guys if we stepped away from KD now, even though it’s probably the right thing to do?
Would that affect how we’re viewed around the league behind the scenes? With other players/agents?
Tricky

Not at all. This would be akin to relying on a MAC clause to terminate a merger or other contract. A ruptured Achilles tendon would certainly qualify as a "Material Adverse Event" for such purposes.

Did you see that zoomed-in slowmo? It really looked like you could see his whole achillies roll up to his calf.

If his Achilles rolled up his calf, I don’t think he would have been able to flex his ankle multiple times.

No. But there was hope for the off-season. That is now dashed.

Nah Durant is a sympathetic figure now

So? Knicks aren't. Signing an injured player is about the dumbest thing any franchise could do. Especially to a freaking max deal.

There's still hope... The rebuild just continues.

Some are trying to make it as if the bball gods are trying to hurt the Knicks. That would be if we signed KD in the summer and then he got injured.

At least the Knicks management has the choice of signing an injured player or not.

Destiny is still in their hands.

Yup! we committed to it then shiny AD came along and most people here tone changed. Started saying how our players are overrated etc.

Our players aren’t overrated they’re rated properly which is they’re not very highly thought of outside this board.

Having young players on your roster

Committing to a rebuild.

This was an attempt at retooling before KP got traded and after.

ATL is an example of a commitment to a rebuild

Knicks basically based their new coaching staff on player development, Mills and Perry talking about building the right way even go so far as to shoot down Butler rumors to show they were serious. We were definitely rebuilding.

That it looked bad but not necessarily a full rupture because he flexed his foot and put weight on it.

AD for Barrett, Smith, Knox, Trier, Ellenson and the two dallas picks. (agree now, make it official 30 days after signing RJ)
Sign Kyrie (or D-Lo if kyrie goes to BKN)
Sign Jimmy Buckets

Kyrie / Kadeem
Dotson / Frank
Butler / x
AD / Melo
Mitch / Deandre
