Some really sad Knicks fans on this board. We committed to a rebuild last year all of sudden it KD or bust, it busted and now we're trashing our young talent.

Yes the Knicks won't be good but they will improve. We have a solid front office.

We should build to be good enough where free agent will help us as oppose to saving us.

I think the Knicks & KD are both too invested regardless of the severity of the injury.

This is why I was gauging opinions here. If we had a handshake deal, would we look like the bad guys if we stepped away from KD now, even though it’s probably the right thing to do?
Would that affect how we’re viewed around the league behind the scenes? With other players/agents?

Not at all. This would be akin to relying on a MAC clause to terminate a merger or other contract. A ruptured Achilles tendon would certainly qualify as a "Material Adverse Event" for such purposes.

If this comes out that it’s a strained Achilles or partial tear then you need to woosah cuz that KD would still be able to come back.

Did you see that zoomed-in slowmo? It really looked like you could see his whole achillies roll up to his calf.

If his Achilles rolled up his calf, I don’t think he would have been able to flex his ankle multiple times.

Knicks basically based their new coaching staff on player development, Mills and Perry talking about building the right way even go so far as to shoot down Butler rumors to show they were serious. We were definitely rebuilding.

That it looked bad but not necessarily a full rupture because he flexed his foot and put weight on it.
