You are projecting. Big time.

Projecting what?

Answer my question. What is magical about Toronto that doesn't exist in other fanbases. You haven't' been able to answer this magical factor. Until you do, all fan bases have bad apples. That's the reality of the situation.

Browsing this forum for a couple of days is all the proof anyone needs that Raptors fans are ... different.

Racism is not something specific to a geographical region either (unless that "geographical region" is the Earth). Again outside of Philly and Boston, two of the worst NBA fanbases along with Utah, never have you seen the crowd cheer about and injury and wave a player off the floor.

It's apples to oranges to compare to something like the prevalance of racism?

Again, I'll ask the question that nobody has been able to answer. Why would Toronto magically be more prone to this level of douchebaggery that others places wouldn't be?

Maybe because that crowd is the type of environment where people that would start a chant and wave at an injured player isn't immediately shunned? Maybe because the Raps fans that weren't cheering are like you and don't particularly care about it?

How often have you gone to an NBA game? You see a lot at one and one major thing is how crowd momentum builds. Enough fans going "this is unacceptable" would've made it so that even if there was a cheer it would be absolutely minor.

The answer is, they aren't. There isn't something magical in the water of Toronto. People suck anywhere.

If you put Utah fans, Boston fans, OKC fans, etc in the same situation, with the same factors etc, you'd have a contigent cheering Durant getting hurt. People just suck, that's the way it is.

So you think we'd get n***** chants in Atlanta? Totally. Everyone everywhere is the same. I mean it's not like we can look at Boston, OKC, Utah, Atlanta, NY, and Toronto as cities in general and see plenty of large differences in their populace, what they value, etc.

I see no answer in your post.

No there's just MORE of us than any other fanbase on this forum. Hell there are more Raptor fans than multiple fanbases put together.

With more people, you get more of a variety, you get more douchebags. The douchebags stand out as they do douchebag things.

I've had more than enough douches from other fanbases troll the Raptors board.

Lmao the GB is loving this because it's giving them a reason to hate the Raptors and their fans (even though there was a standing ovation and chants of "KD" before he left).

Projecting your fanbase's behavior onto others. Not every fanbase acts the same. We all have jerks within our fanbases...but last night was more than a few bad apples my dude

Most of the crowd actually cheered in support of KD after the fact. Like Max Kellerman said, I don't think people realized the severity of the injury at first, it was an initial reaction that we would be playing against them without KD.

The behavior of many Rap fans are the reason why many don't like them. Normally root for underdog, but never seen such an obnoxious fanbase for a team that's never won jack. The KD thing didn't even surprise me

If they did it was towards the end of the thread and probably after the concentrated effort of Raps fans (and non Raps fans that like defending **** people like yourself) attempting to misdirect the conversation. A thread that should be full of people talking about how terrible those fans are is now a thread of people saying they're horrible and people like you going for the gold in mental gymnastics.

So you think that all of Raptors and NYK fans here who together have more posts and members than all other combined, are any different than representation of the fans of these two teams in general population? They are not! Go to our board and you will find plenty of idiotic statements ALWAYS. But, thankfully we are not all the same and you cannot disregard statements like "Raptors fans are trash". In that context they are as trash as Knicks fans, or any other team's fans.

This is absurd. We're hardcore fans around here and not at all representative of the average fan. Seriously the Knicks board vs Knicks fans vs Knicks media wildly differ. While our fans were hating Phil the board didn't flip until well after he was fired for example.

I stand corrected. You, Nicks fans are not because you suck for so long (no pun intended). But we are 100%. Everyone is now Raptors fan despite the fact that 75% of them cannot name 2 of our bench players. So what do you expect - people who never watched full basketball game in their lives before this Finals, to recognize what is the common protocol on basketball game? Same on this board - we have people creating accounts just to say 'KD suck".

I call bs buddy, lol. You've been hating on the Raps for a while now, and sometimes it seems like you're trolling so I don't really believe you.

Our fans have never really been obnoxious before (up until this point). We're a passionate bunch and we can get emotional, but the majority of Toronto is respectful and safe, which ultimately reflects the people within the city, does it not?

Can you fault the fans for being confident in their team? What about Lakers fans when they got Lebron? You would have thought they won the championship already.

IDK if English is your first language or not and I'm not trying to be rude but I legitimately don't understand what you're trying to say here or why "Nicks" fans are relevant to your point.

Take it from someone who was at the game:

CANsportsguru wrote:
Was at the game and it definitely was a different perspective in the arena than it was shown on TV. Fans were cheering because we scored off a turnover. They also showed the replay in the arena. The TV cams stayed with KD on the floor. Once he was helped up and fans realized he was hurt they started chanting "KD". A few a**holes don't dictate the entire fan base nor the 19,000 people at the game. Entire thread should be locked.

Not spinning anything.

We're a great city, one of the safest in North America (for a city as large as Toronto), and that wouldn't be the case if it wasn't for good people. I'll embrace that any day.

Dude. I just read all of your argument. Of course there are plenty of good people and places in Toronto.

Right now is not the time to stand up and be that guy arguing what you're arguing. Man up. Say it was awful. Then shut up.

I have defended other fanbases because I hate the generalizations.

More power to you, I would never bother with it. Raptor fans cheer for injuries is now the new Philly fans boo Santa Claus. It's not going away.

Hell, when dudes say that the Nets only have 50 fans, I don't bother arguing it, instead I run with it because I think its funny because it contains a bit of skewed truth (our fanbase is probably the smallest in the NBA).

TBH I would rather be known as the fanbase that cheers injury as opposed to what Boston and Utah are known for

I did read. Your 'maybe this happened' is a complete guess.

So we're guessing as to maybe why the Toronto fanbase might be different than other fanbases and maybe reacted differently than other.

So what's sounds more logical.

Maybe maybe maybe?

Or humans are generally the same.

You say "of course there are plenty of good people and places in Toronto," but by the way this thread is going, it seems like many think this is indicative of the entire fan base/city, so clearly y'all don't understand that. You don't get to decide who can talk and who can argue, so I suggest you shut up my friend.
