Gordon Hayward was not an Achilles injury, iirc.

We still don't know the severity of the injury (rupture/full tear/partial tear, etc.).

Cousins had a drop in numbers, but that could mostly be due to joining a team that had Durant/Klay/Curry and playing limited minutes.

I don't know if signing Durant to the max will be THAT bad. It would only be a 4 year deal.

We can't just tank. It doesn't work and we'll end up like Cleveland and Phoenix this year.

I want to keep the pick, but we still need to grab impact guys in free agency this summer.

Exactly.

I know a lot of people are upset, but the Knicks as a franchise is very healthy. We have picks, youth and cap flexibility with a shrewd front office.

If this is maintained with patience along with the leverage of the NY market, we'll be a great team. But we gotta stick to our guns. Especially our young guns.

Operate like the Spurs in a NY market. That's golden.

Or we can end up like the Pelicans or Grizzlies this year and jump everyone. You don't have to tank anymore.

Kawhi and Giannis were drafted at 15. Pay for the best scouts in the world. There is no reason our scouting staff shouldn't be the best in the NBA. Build through the draft. The Raptors and Warriors are built through the draft, for the most part.

We don't need to overpay anyone in free agency this year. Rome wasn't built in a day. Keep building. 2021 free agency will have Giannis in it, among others.

Eh before Cousins tore his quad he was kinda playing like he was wearing cement shoes, doesn't necessarily mean the same for KD though :-?

How does Golden State feel about all this?
If he opts in, that’s outta their hands but do they still try to keep him if he opts out? How does that reflect on them if the don’t considering he put everything on the line for them?

The treatment for incomplete or partial tears and rarely complete tears is temporary immobilization to allow the body to heal the tendon by forming scar tissue. The treatment for complete achilles tendon tears is typically a surgical repair of the tendon. Several techniques have been described and depending on the type of tear, some techniques are preferred over others. The outcomes for surgical repair are typically quite good and provide a return to sports, but the full recovery can take up to 1 year. Surgical repair has demonstrated a lower risk of rerupture or re-tearing of the tendon as compared to temporary immobilization without surgery. The primary risk of the surgery is a complication associated with the incision, such as infection or wound breakdown, however fortunately these are rare.

He must have a partial tear and they’re deciding whether he can heal it with rest.

EDIT: Really I have zero idea but there are some signs that it’s not a full tear — otherwise surgery is required and there wouldn’t be back and forth.
