I did read. Your 'maybe this happened' is a complete guess.

So we're guessing as to maybe why the Toronto fanbase might be different than other fanbases and maybe reacted differently than other.

So what's sounds more logical.

Maybe maybe maybe?

Or humans are generally the same.

Well considering you don't even believe humans are generally the same, as shown by your refusal to say a n***** heckle in Atlanta would slide, I'd say you're being intentionally obtuse.

Apples to oranges my friend, we've already discussed it.

When you watch the TV replays, it's easy to see the focus was on KD going down, in the arena, we (and i speak for my own experience and am projecting that on a lot of other people) didn't even see KD down and saw Ibaka with the steal, you hear the crowd rise and start cheering right as the play breaks and you can't see KD down from a lot of angles. That's a fact. Idiots will be idiots and those that cheered for the actual injury should be called out.

As he gets up you can see a few idiots waiving bye and others telling fans to stop. They cheering started before you noticed he was down and because of that I think the players saw some of the idiots up close and tried to squash it. Which was the right thing to do and once majority of us caught on to what happened, they all cheered Durant off and chanted KD.

It was a mess of timing on the tv side of things so I get how the optics look and how so many watching could see it the way they are seeing it. But there weren't 20k Raptors fans cheering hte injury, i was in the building and can say that with certainty. The idiots cheering, well I don't consider them Raptors fans.

That's a ridiculous stance.

That's like Boston, Utah fans saying "yeah there were a-holes being racist but so what, I was too" lol that's just stupid.

We're not going to generalize the actions of a segment to the population as a whole just to appease whatever lame narrative you'd like to bestow on the population at large.

Repeatedly now we've been apologetic for that group of idiots and likewise chastised them with everyone else but we're not going to assume guilt onto the entire population by virtue of a segment being guilty.

Can you fault the fans for being confident in their team? What about Lakers fans when they got Lebron? You would have thought they won the championship already.

Sorry, but no. Toronto Maple Leafs are hated by everyone outside of Tor. Fans in that city don't have the best reputation in hockey, and its bled over to the Raps the past few years. Only reason it never got bad was because of Lebron smoking them ever playoffs.

The way many Rap fans have been this season and playoffs, has been Philly-like.

So you believe that Raptor fans are now at the level of fans who cheered and asked if Michael Irvin wanted to snort the 40 yard line as he laid on the ground motionless after suffering a career ending spinal cord injury?

Yall blowing it out of proportion. No one was cheering because he was injured. Raps chances of winning their first NBA championship drastically improved when he went down and everyone got caught up in the moment. He got a standing ovation when he was walking off.

Funny how people cant just say an apology and move on. The crappy Warriors shareholder (working to not use term owner per player request) who pushed Lowrey immediately offered sincere regrets and even to deliver them in person.

Please Raps fans, just say we all regret it and move on. It is the only path out of this bad rap hole. Or read 'Woman in the Dunes,' by Kobo Abe for a good analogy. Cliff notes, your love of the Raps is analogous to his love for the woman who has her home surrounded by sand dunes, so he continues to fill the buckets with sand to keep the home he has come to accept (the Raptors) every day....the defense of your team is represented by the digging of sand daily to keep the hole free, but you fall deeper and deeper into the dunes....

Apples to oranges my friend, we've already discussed it.

You don't get to just say apples to oranges and pass it off as a salient point you know that right? You only refuse to acknowledge that point because it's something amazingly obvious and like I said plenty of times there's tons of noticeable differences between NBA cities.

Toronto has universal healthcare. Atlanta just banned abortions and has refused to expand the ACA to cover people that can't afford it. Surprisingly their citizens might not be the same or have the same values and principles.

Good point.

FWIW I talked to a physical trainer today he said once an Achilles is partially torn it's just a ticking time bomb. If not now, next year. So the rationalization was probably just to go for it in a championship game.

So it all kinda makes sense now. They were trying to protect him going into FA which is why they were acting so weird.

Very good point though.

Rap fans have been pretty bad throughout the playoffs. Are they peak Philly level, no. But certainly been Maple Leaf level.

There has been plenty of people here who have said it was wrong and they are sorry for what some fans have done... The conversation shifted when a few morons have decided to claim its all of Toronto or the whole fan base and its what most of us have a problem with... You won't find anyone here defending the people who cheered.

We are in agreement. I am not saying all fans are bad at all. I have nothing against those who cheered in the moment and out of conscience later regretted it. If Kawhi's leg doesnt hold up, I would be also be slightly cheered by the improved odds of a title, but feel bad about it later. It is natural. I dont think I would demand the head of Raptors mgmt for `using up' their hired gun star in his last year of his contract. Not much has been said of him obviously playing heavy minutes hurt for 3 grueling series in a row. Warriors had rest time, lots of medical reviews, took KD out for two full series worth of games, when initially told he might be back for Portland, etc.

So does every Raptors have have to apologize for the actions of a few? I see enough comments from Raptors fans that these people are idiots and not accepted by us but do you need each one of us to stand up and say Sorry for those amongst us that acted wrong? If that's what it takes, I'm more than willing to apologize for a few idiots.

The reason so many may be getting their backs up is that there is a huge generalization of Raptors fans going on. No one was saying all Dubs fans are bad because of Mark stevens actions were they?

Take it from someone who was at the game:

CANsportsguru wrote:
Was at the game and it definitely was a different perspective in the arena than it was shown on TV. Fans were cheering because we scored off a turnover. They also showed the replay in the arena. The TV cams stayed with KD on the floor. Once he was helped up and fans realized he was hurt they started chanting "KD". A few a**holes don't dictate the entire fan base nor the 19,000 people at the game. Entire thread should be locked.

Not spinning anything.

We're a great city, one of the safest in North America (for a city as large as Toronto), and that wouldn't be the case if it wasn't for good people. I'll embrace that any day.

So I should not believe my lying eyes and ears, eh?

and the fans at Jurassic park? how about them? just some random hooligans not indicative of the entire fanbase?

You can believe whatever you want, I'll just believe the eyes and ears of people that were actually in the building.

And for your second question, I mean you kind of just answered it yourself. "Not indicative of the entire fanbase," unless you believe that to not be true?
