Morant
Knox
Mitchell

As alternative, probably try to get another pick for Dennis/frank neither are good fits next to morant you need snipers next to him on the perimeter

He’s a super huge homer and just dumps on other teams, especially those that aren’t winning. On top of that he just states the complete obvious constantly almost like Magic Johnson tweets.

Gut?
The Knicks love the kid and just aren’t Steph Currying themselves by gushing about him publicly.
I mean he fits our “system” to a TEE.
And his mindset is a perfect fit for New York.

They don’t mean as much in today’s league but he’s gonna be a triple double threat every time he steps on the floor. If he can shore up his efficiency and work harder on defense he will become a star. Everything about him suggests he’ll work to get there.

The Morant slander on this board is baffling

He's not a top 3 pick

Doesn't go top 5 any other year

His athleticism and playmaking are great, but he struggled to finish at the rim (53% iirc) against OVC level competition, his jumper isn't good (he has literally no pull up game at all, from any distance), and he completely lacks interest in playing defense

He's a guy you take a flier on at like, 8 or 9. He's not nearly as good as his raw numbers look like

If I had to guess, I'd say he's best case scenario Rondo with more bounce and no defense. Which he could be a good player, but he's not a guy you build around

Sup Knicks fans. I’ve been putting together game tape for some of the draft prospects where I take one game and cut up every possession they’re actively involved in on both sides of the ball so you get more than just a highlight tape. The last two I did were for Culver and Barrett (still working on his defensive tape) so I figured I’d drop by and post them for you guys to watch.

I think you’re waaay off. He shoots 62% at the rim. And gets to the rim at will (half of his shots are at the rim).

I think this article does a good job going over his strengths, weaknesses and how he can improve: https://www.thestepien.com/2019/03/25/draft-notes-ja-morant/

This draft really aint that good, but I do think Ja and RJ certainly are worthy of their expected selections. I think the Knicks would be happy with either of these guys.

Somebody posted the synergy stats, if you take out put-backs, he's at 53%, I was told

Teams are gonna pack the paint against him, cause he can't shoot from anywhere, and he'll be going against legit shot blockers in the NBA. He's also really thin (weighs as much as Isaiah Thomas), so he won't be able to absorb contact and he'd be reliant on drawing fouls, which may or may not work at the next level

I just think he's overhyped at this point, isn't worth using a top 3 pick on

memphis is not passing on Ja. he's shinier than RJ. he's too electric for them to pass on him.
