That’s why UK always wanted to involve Herro in the play. Even if they were just trying to set up a simple Washington post up they’re gonna initiate that by running Herro off a baseline screen and let him make the entry pass, or the decision on what to do if the post entry isn’t available.

He's not going to play that role on as a starter on a playoff team.

He's maybe able to play that role as a 7th or 8th man setting up a starter or a 6th man.

Would say that. Herro is more athletic, but the difference is that Herro is averagely athletic and Kennard is below averagely athletic.

Herro isn't athletic full stop. Neither is Kennard, but he was by far the better prospect than Herro.

If we're grading Herro as athletic than you have to start grading guys like King as athletic: its just not a factual statement as pertains to what we are grading them in terms of being NBA players.

Herro has an avenue to being a JJ Reddick style contributor in the NBA, but when you look at Kennard you can see just how narrow this avenue actually is for him. For me the chances Herro becomes Reddick mk 2 are minuscule, and its much more likely his lack of physical measurables will mean he's playing in the Chinese league in 3 years time.

I'm guessing they go undrafted. I think they all have a chance at cracking the league at some point though. Then again, in the 2nd round, there's definitely an appeal to draft and stash options, which may make selecting them appeal over some of the more fringe NCAA talent.

I think McDowell-White's probably the best prospect, was a 5* recruit iirc, just slowed down by some injuries lately. But good size, and excellent feel for the game. If he shot pretty well in workouts I could see a team buying in to him in the 2nd round easily. Froling and Noi are outside chances too, I like their games. Makur Maker I don't think cracks the league unless he improves his shot.

i don't, I just don't think it's better than Herro's

and that's verified in the production, Herro had 2x the assist rate that Kennard hard on identical usage

i love this draft class
mostly because of UK (pj washington, keldon johnson, and tyler herro).

given how disciplined herro played under calipari, and although his high school mixtapes show him as a great one on one shot creator vs lesser competition, he could be a really, really excellent rip hamilton type of guy if he gets the right coach and system.

Kentucky was a borderline top 10 team in a weak year for college basketball as a whole. I understand that sometimes the whole isn't quite as good as the sum of its parts, but I'm having a hard time seeing how the 3rd-best player on a college team that wasn't some dominant juggernaut is supposed to be a difference-maker in the NBA.

Everyone focuses on Herro as just a 3pt shooter but his midrange game is sick. Feathery mid range J with all sorts of step backs and pull ups, an array of floaters, touch shots and runners, a number of different releases. He’s gonna flourish with the space to attack close outs and be a secondary handler in the PnR in addition to all the things everyone expects.
