I think you need to be forced to sell your account because that's gotta be the worst analogy I've ever seen

City of Toronto forced to sell a team that they do not even own because some of its members simply cheered Kevin Durant's injury? How is that in any way comparable to an "individual" breaking the arena rule and laying hands on a player? Not to mention most people weren't even asking him to sell off his shares. Wow.

every fanbase has their darkness inside them. Raptor fans got to own what we all saw on TV but at the same time many Warrior fans initial reaction to the injury was not concern for the player but chances at winning another title.

You know this **** is overblown when all of the media outlets like First Take, Undisputed, First Things First, and Speak For Yourself are defending the Raptors while a bunch of people on the forums are trashing them and judging the entire city based on it.

It was a bad look, the fans that cheered and waved him bye were rightfully criticized and shamed, and in the end the Raptors lost the game.

****'s done and people need to move on already. It was actually a good thing the Raptors lost since nobody would be talking about the Raptors success and every headline would be about KD instead. Now with a few days off to cool people's heads, if the Raptors can close them out in 6, the status quo will return.

I hate these simp ass raptors fans saying “on behalf of raptor fans and Canada. We’re very sorry”

We’re raptors fans classless for cheering absolutely but the same people who apologizing are lying if they didn’t have some sort of relief that GSW best player was out.

It’s all about context really. It’s hard to really explain when you wanna win ur first championship.

It’s easy to say **** raptors fans but like imagine being in this position. You can only react in the moment

The sucker punching and sonya video absolutely ridiculous and should definitely be scolded

Durant's injury has been one the most heavily publicized things this Finals. Those fans that cheered were likely hoping for this re-injury. It wasn't some freak accident..

Will warriors fans ever forgive raps fans for cheering on KD injury and sucker punching the couple?

Post#706 » by spicy4MVP » Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:16 am

I am a huge raps fan but if celtics fans ever did that with kawhi going down or commit the violence on our fans Id never forgive and probably preach that to the entire world how classless the organization and their people are for doing it. just disgusting. I can never look at my fans ever the same again. still in shock.

Lol you really think this thread isn't getting shut down?

Anyways over exaggeration, people from all cities do **** things, it doesn't represent the city. Game 5 wasn't a good game for Toronto's rep, one win away from championship....kinda like burning down a whole city right before you become queen :o

But glad this myth about Toronto's politeness is done, we got our douchebags too.

People are not the same everywhere. Raptors fans are doing this. Majority of them. Did you see the reaction in “Jurassic Park” they acted like y’all won.

Downright disrespectful, scumbag behavior that should not be defended by you nor anyone. You want them to win that bad you’re celebrating an injury or defending those who celebrated it.

Fans didn’t cheer until they were told too, that’s crap they didn’t wanna do that. And here we thought that Canada was full of people with class and integrity. Intolerable behavior they showed at KD.

Stop being a troll.

People are the same everywhere. Every fanbase has douche bags. There's nothing special about Raptors fans vs Celtics fans vs Jazz fans.

Remember when Jazz fans booed Derek Fisher for leaving to get his daughter better medical treatment? Remember how there have been racial slurs slung by different fanbases? Are those fanbases all scum? No.

**** people exist everywhere. Give me a break.

First of all watch how you talk to me. I’m not being a troll.

Utah is notoriously known for behavior like that.

People are not the same everywhere. What about Raps fans verbally attacking Steph’s mom?

You saying people are jerks everywhere is excusing this type of behavior. This exactly the issue with this world. No accountability.

What accountability. The people who did this should apologize. Toronto the 4th biggest city in the world

There’s dumbasses everywhere

I personally don’t care about being generalized because there actual ethic groups and religions who are generalized for much worse. Which should have bigger focus on world issues than this. it’s easier to judge a whole group of people based some of folks actions.

But like get off ur rightous horse. Nobody here needs to apologize for other grown folks actions

Is straight up nonsense.

Whatever happens in finals result it is what it is. Basketball gods or whomever do what you do

We've gone off on Red Sox and Bruins fans numerous times for assaulting Toronto sports fans. We're the same scum.

The media has been saying that it's a harmless calf strain the entire time. It's only forums (like RealGM) which have been speculating that it's an Achilles injury.

assemble a mob of people in a competetive atmosphere with primal emotions and you will get all kind of reactions. there's really no reason to be appalled or bewildered by what happened.

there are people who were in your same school, office, church, temple, etc that have done much worse. this is how people behave. and when put into a very emotional adverserial situation, any single incident can cause multiple reactions. its why fans sometimes boo their own players.

raps fans rep took a PR hit and there's nothing you can do about it bc people are primal. accept it and move on.

Those are England football fans. It's taken from last years world cup. That is a classic goal celebration of go nuts and hug the person next to you while spilling beer everywhere.

I think there are definitely differences across fan bases.

Toronto doesn't have a strong sports culture. We just have a ton of bandwagon fans that hop on board during deep playoff runs, but we have very few knowledgeable fans. We're also super insecure due to decades of losing so we tend to overcompensate with a fake macho persona.

We're obviously not the only **** fan base, but we are one of them. I'd say we're bottom-4 with Boston, Utah, and Philly.
