If some world class athletes cannot demonstrate humility, you expect a mob crowd of bandwagonners under extremely high stakes to rise above them?

Just showing the hypocrisy in all of this and the narrative here that all Raptors fans are evil.

Was it right to celebrate an injury? No, but people demonstrate crappy behaviour everywhere under certain conditions. If you can't grasp that, then I don't know what else to tell you.

That's not a fan. That's a part owner. Obviously he shouldn't be doing that either and he deserved his punishment, but let's not act like one idiot's actions are the same as thousands of Raptors fans cheering the injury of a great player. His career may never be the same again, but sure, let's cheer that he's hurt because we can't beat them with him on the floor.

Warriors part owner shoving Kyle Lowry and tells him to go F himself - It's only one guy

Warriors organization clearing KD to play after he still looked uncomfortable in a couple of practices - nothing to see here

Steve Kerr - "We're hoping for KD to come back....games 3....4...5" - no pressure.

KD gets hurt and fans react poorly in haste but give KD a rousing applause upon realizing that he is injured - Canadians are pure EVIL!!!

Getting enjoyment out of someone getting a career altering injury. I suppose when you've achieved nothing in life lashing out in frustration is going to happen.

No one is happy he ruptured his achilles, but at the time no one knew that either. This kind of injury isn't immediately obvious like a Gordon Hayward/Shaun Livingston/Paul George injury is where you see what's on the court, the guy is screaming in pain and a bone is literally sticking out. Nope. KD casually limping off and sat down...and grabbed his lower leg.

Initial reaction is as a fan of the team to the fact that player is leaving possibly for the rest of the quarter or perhaps game and that gives your team a chance to win. Straight up. It would have been the same response if he was ejected after picking up 2 techs. It had nothing to do with the fact that Kevin was hurt...it had everything to do that he was about to leave the game as someone who was giving the Warriors a chance to win...and Toronto fans are obviously desperate to win.

Not sure how you can look at this "person's" comment and interpret it in anyway but they are extremely happy with the outcome of what happened to Durant

Many players chimed in, even from different sports.

All of the talking heads (Jim Rome, Kellerman, Stephen A Smith, etc.) gave their take on it.

This got a ton of coverage. It might not be covered like 9/11 or something but its just basketball. For a basketball related event, this got covered about as heavily as anything.

The fact that he is out of the game and have a greater chance at the championship. Not the fact that he is injured.

I would have been even happier if Durant didn't come back at all and tried to play. He needed to be out and heal...for everyone's sake...stay out and let that calf injury get better instead of trying to rush back.

It was a story the folowoing day of course but then they let it go. Is it suprising to the GB that most of these takes defended the Raptors fans and gave them the benefit of the doubt under these conditions?

It's definitely not the same narrative that is trying to be painted here.

I'm pretty sure the Part Owner who is sitting courtside probably likes the Warriors. So yes, he's a fan. But regardless (EDIT: as the dude below me posted), the Warriors fans do the same thing.

I don't think the guy who shoved Lowry should be banned and fined 500k, and I think people need to calm down here too. Stuff happens when pressure is on people, especially in the heat of the moment. Not everything is a cause for keyboard warrior outrage.

Nobody said anything about any of that. You're deflecting and creating strawmen. The actions of others doesn't excuse thousands of fans cheering an injury.

If you watch the full video I think the fans were complaining about the foul call.

Are you insane? Watch your own video. The fans weren't cheering. They booed the play before and then were mostly quiet. I didn't hear any cheering.

RAPTORS fans hurl abuse at Curry's mom

Post#758 » by PhillyPhilly » Wed Jun 12, 2019 3:28 pm

The Raps fans tried to defend the cheering that took place inside and outside the arena after Durant got injured, but I wonder how they will defend this?

Like I said before, EVERY other NBA fan should be rooting hard for the Warriors until this series is over. This behaviour is utterly pathetic and totally WEAK.

At 0:05 in the video they absolutely cheer. And physically assaulting players is inexcusable and far worse than just cheering an injury.
