There ain't a single player mocked around our range I'd hate more than Gafford.

Gafford never attempted a 3-pointer and shot 55% from the line. If you can't shoot, you can't play for the Bucks.

Shot selection is an issue. He pounds his dribble too much, ruining offensive flow. His tough shot-making ability is intriguing, but he loves the midrange a bit too much.

Slow, awkward shooting release and average touch on his jumper.

Doesn't really scream fit in Milwaukee. Don't really love the Rich Paul connection either.

I'm not sure how much you know about Bazley so I'll start at the beginning: He was a high recruit commiting to Syracuse, then decommitted to play in the G-League, then elected to train on his own for a year eventually. So basicly he's gone dark for a year except for the combine games. So the sample size is very, very small and I'd take any takes with a grain of salt.

From what we could see from the footage (of 2 combine games where he probably was advised to dominate after going dark for 1 year) is that he's all about creating his own shot first and foremost. He's shown on occasion that he'll find his teammates if he gets cut off, but his game on offense is measuring his opponent and beating them off the dribble either by going all the way or drawing contact. That definately isn't from the Bucks university for role players I would agree but that is exactly what we let Giannis do. Buds system works because Giannis forces double teams or scores at will 1 on 1.

Regarding the slow awkward shooting release I agree. The jumper needs a makeover imo. That said he's got above average touch.

Snell and 30 to the Bulls for nada.

Buy #42 from Atlanta and select Jontay Porter

I'm with you except for the selection.

Have not had a chance to do any draft research or watch much of any college bball this year. Anyone give me the skinny on Matisse Thybulle? Watched one video and he looked incredible defending and his three point form seemed solid. Struggled from three this year but was pretty good on pretty decent volume years previous.

Averaged an absurd 5.8 blocks+steals this year playing guard. Tell me more please.

Basicly he's what you'd expect from the stats. Really good defender though his block numbers are a bit misleading since those are mostly jumpers he's blocking. He's not swatting shots at the rim - still impressive. I'd be quite worried for him from NBA 3 range. And he really doesn't do anything on offense besides shooting open jumpers.
That said, he's been shutting down workouts for a while so it's highly probable that he has a promise.

Bazley looks like he exclusively practiced 1on1's and worked on his body. The question is where on the scale from worthless ballstopper to Kobe he is.

Without knowing much about his three, I did see something, maybe on ringer that he is the best wing defender in the draft or something like that. Would be a nice pick up if they have any confidence he can hit a three.

Then just buy a second and try to nab Porter.

I think he's going to be a great defender but it always depends what you're looking at. Imo there are some guys who can 'shut down their guy' better than he can and there are some guys that can switch better up and down than he can. He's more like the best of both worlds. That said, teams will want to squeeze as much shooting and playmaking in there and it's easier to get that from smalls over bigs so he's probably going to defend more 3's and 4's than 2's. And that's where he'll give up size in the NBA and we'll see what happens then. Best case for him is he gets to a team where he defends his position that doesn't need him to do anything else (looking at you GS). Philly could work since they may elect to finally let Simmons defend PFs.

Ya'll do know there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Sekou falls to us (or that we trade up for him for that matter), right?

Lots of posts about a guy we have a <1% chance of drafting.

We talked about Ayton, Doncic and JJJ last year too. This is the 2019 draft thread, not the 'who should the Bucks take' thread.

Pool would be a target for me as a UDFA on a two-way. Really liked what he's shown early in the season. He regressed since then.

I'm just gonna say this once so I don't have to add it to every draft comment: all I know about the NBA draft prospects this year are youtube highlights, and whatever's written about them on DX/ESPN, The Ringer/ and the Stepian.

So with that out of the way, man, Louis King looks ****.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
