Godzilla: Monster action = Fantastic. Human stuff = unwatchable if Charles Dance wasn't involved.

After the shock of episode 1's plot device wore off I actually enjoyed it. I did laugh very loud the first time it happened though. Was NOT expecting that.

It was as if they had the script switched out by a crazy fan and accidentally filmed bad fan fic.
Literally went from quite possibly my favorite show to not knowing if I will watch the next episode.

IDK, it's been a really good show the whole time, especially the beginning seasons. But now to keep it going while not repeating the same thing over and over they've had to get creative and at times conspiracies are a bit much, which isn't uncommon in shows at all. And just overall that the quality goes down a bit when they have to go beyond the initial premise of the show that made it great to begin with. Plus, overall the acting in it is top notch by almost all. Dialogue can get a little pompous/pretentious or overdone with some the analogies and metaphors they use, but that's kind of common for Sorkin related things (though I don't think he writes these)
ETA: funny I say that about the analogies/metaphors then I see this article joking about it: https://www.theringer.com/tv/2019/6/7/18656652/billions-season-4-finale-similes

I thought Axe's speech to Rebecca in the board room was kinda incredible, even as I'm thinking, "He's a sociopath".

The scene where Burt sees Chase in the bar and tells him what Riley and Funk have been up to sent me over the edge.

In things so predictable they border on parody, the WSJ gave Linda Fairstein a byline.

How did the writer of X-Men 3 get a second crack at the Dark Phoenix Saga, and not only write but direct it this time?

How did the writers that decided to sew Deadpools mouth shut then crashed and burned when they had to write their own material for GoTs get handed Star Wars?crkone wrote:How did the writer of X-Men 3 get a second crack at the Dark Phoenix Saga, and not only write but direct it this time?

Finally finished Chernobyl. Anyone think it’s conclusion was made to be an allegory for global warming? It was incredible, heavy, maddening, frustrating all at once.

Re: OT: TV and Movies (with spoilers)
I was a semi-pro poker player for a number of years until the game was effectively solved at a point when the fish (bad players) were all but excised from the pool. Nothing would make me more angry than movie poker hands like the Casino Royale one where one guy hits the full house, one guy hits quads and one guy hits a straight flush.ReasonablySober wrote:I thought Axe's speech to Rebecca in the board room was kinda incredible, even as I'm thinking, "He's a sociopath".
But a crappy dying retail company with a ton of debt is worth 2b more dead than alive would have been killed so long ago it effectively had the awareness of such a hand. Getting that so wrong in a show about hedge fund kings is simply criminal.

I liked Chernobyl but probably messed it up because I went on a google fit after episode 1 and kinda spoiled myself for the major events. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'm a nuclear expert now so there's that.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Re: OT: TV and Movies (with spoilers)
Seems like it will be more true to the book than the first one. Speaking of, that's one of the few times the movie was way better than the book.
