This one is hard. I feel like someone is giving him a big one year contract in the 20 millionish dollar range.

Yeah, I think this one is a tough one. I feel like the standard deviation on this one could be pretty broad.

I agree. He seems like the guy someone talks themselves into when they miss on everyone else. If he waits a little longer, unlike this last offseason, I think he will get a big contract on the short term.

Re: Predict the Contract: DeMarcus Cousins Edition
Im going with either a 2 yr 35 mil so 17.5 avg or a 1 yr 22 to 25 mil deal. I personally wouldn't be against the Hawks doing it but i don't think Schlenk is ready this season to add a FA like that he's gonna wait a year or 2 til everything comes off the books. Although Boogie if healthy i think could take this young team to the playoffs to get them some experience before we really start making our push. Plus if we do well with him and Boogie likes it here it would help show other bigger FA's we aren't a bad place to look at when we have tons of cap space coming up.

Based on your poll, put me down 1 year 14 million.

There is a ton of money available this off-season and he's a well known commodity albeit with an injury history. I see him getting a short term 20+ deal.

Re: Predict the Contract: DeMarcus Cousins Edition
At the moment 1/18 but if he finishes this series strong I can see a team gambling with 3/68.
Game 6, and game 7 if required are going to be huge for him.

I’m thinking he goes somewhere on a 1+1 deal for 18-20mil per season.

I think anywhere from $10-$15 million a year. I can't see him getting much more especially with how bad he looks on the defensive side of things now

Re: Predict the Contract: DeMarcus Cousins Edition
I think the best Cousins can hope for is a one year deal in the $20 million range from a team that's missing out in free agency.

I’m gonna say 1 year, $20M or 3 years, $50 (17/17/16)

If Kyrie leaves, the Celtics should be all over Cousins.
I think in the right system, with the right coach, Cousins is going to be a top-2/3 center in the league once again. And Boston always brings the best in certain players.
And Boston needs a center for years now.

If Irving leaves and they let Morris, Rozier, Theis, Wanamaker, & Gibson walk, they would still be $866K over the cap. They would need Horford to opt out which would give them $28.3 mil in cap space. However, I think Horford helps his team win more than Cousins so it doesn't make a lot of sense from perspective especially since Horford does play C.

Re: Predict the Contract: DeMarcus Cousins Edition
I think he will get 1 Yr 20 Mil contract.
Surely no-one is crazy enough to offer him 20Mil + for multiple years. Although there will likely be one desperate team. He's been a very good player, but he is VERY slow now and only played a few months of basketball over the last 12+months. Personally, I wouldn't sign him for any more than 15Mil for 1 year, but I'm very pessimistic where he will get back too
