Draft Contest

Post#1 » by Ruzious » Wed Jun 12, 2019 8:27 pm

Anyone interested in a mock draft contest? The scoring will be 4 points for every pick you get right, 2 points for every pick you're off by one on, and 1 point for every pick you're off by 2. For example, if you pick RJ Barrett to go 4th and he goes 4th, you get 4 points for that pick. If he goes either 3rd or 5th, you get 2 points, and if he goes 2nd or 6th, you get 1 point.

If you're interested, speak up, and you're welcome to make rule suggestions. Thanks.

Edit: I'll do the scoring 2 ways: one for the entrie first round and the other just for the lottery, so every entry that includes the entire first round will get 2 scores. No second round guesses will be scored.

You can enter and edit in this thread from now until all the way up to an hour before the draft starts - when I'll close the thread.

Any more rules or changes will be added to this post.

This thread will be closed at 6:00 PM Eastern time on draft day.

I was going to do it just first round, but since you made that request, I'll score it both ways - one for the first round and the other just for the lottery. I'll add that to the first post.

Cool idea.

So it's who you think teams will pick? Or where the player gets picked?

What happens if you project for example that the Knicks take a certain guy at #3, but then they trade down and take that same guy at #5?

Is that a 4 pointer or a 1 pointer?

Good question. It's when they're picked - rather than who picks them. So, if he's picked 5th, and you had him going 3rd, you'd get 1 point.

No, you can do just the lotto, or you can do the entire first round. I'm gonna put in my picks for the entire first round tonight. Hopefully others will. If you do, I'll still count your score both ways - so you can win for both the lottery and the 1st round.
