God why can't he shoot like that in the games.

This is progression. His shot looks a lot smoother than this season with less hitch, quicker release and better balance. He will get things right guys and will be a game changer on the defensive end.

I'm just hoping he turns into Tony Allen with an average 3pt shot.

That’s why I’m not not tripping on Frank. Last season alone his handle improved light years.

Hopefully a clearly defined 3&D role can help him focus and prioritize.

not impressed by practice video. Lots of NBA players look like great shooters in practice but, when the bright lights come on, they lay bricks That said, I'm not hoping for failure. Him improving could only benefit the team.

I mean, that'd help

His problem, like a lot of young players, is consistency. I know it's easy to just sh*tpost about "Frank sucks, can't shoot," I mean, I do it all the time for other players

But, look at his splits last year for 3pt shooting. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/n/ntilila01/splits/2019

He shot 39% in October, then 15% in November, back up to 37% in December, then down to 31% in January

He had stretches of being really good at shooting, one incredibly bad stretch, and one regular bad stretch. If he works hard enough, I see no reason he can't get to being a consistent 36, 37 percent shooter. Which is well above the Mendoza line for someone as good defensively as him, and while he's not a great playmaker for a PG, he is a good secondary facilitator as an off guard. Think Nic Batum with much better defense, that's his ceiling. It's not sexy, and you can replace him, but I think giving up on him for nothing at this point is a bad move

But this year is the year he needs to start showing something. If he doesn't, I'll be sad, but I'd support trading him
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Frank’s value is at all time low. Makes 0 sense in trading him..he’s a non value prospect at this time..let’s see if his makeup (family background) can translate into becoming an effective offensive player and maybe actually being healthy..

I’m all in for the youth rebuild..if we pass on big dawgs/don’t get max cats would love to get a Beverly type guy in our franchise..
BAF Suns

Chris Paul / Patrick Beverley / Shamorie Ponds
Buddy Hield / Timothy Luwawu / Stanley Johnson
Kendrick Nunn / Matisse Thybulle / Darius Miller
RJ Barrett / Kyle Kuzma / Dwayne Bacon
DeAndre Jordan / Kenrich Williams / DJ Wilson

Same thing I say when people say "Mitch has form on his jumper! He'll be taking jumpers and 3's".

I'll believe when I see it in games. I think Mitch took 3 or 4 jumpers all year. If it was game good, he'd have taken more of them. On the plus side, he made at least half his of his 4 jumpers!!!!

Kanter shoots 3's in practice. Nicely.

i think the takeaway from this video was the form/release development. not simply if he could hit a few in a row on camera.

Agreed. And I think Mitch has nice form as well. I think he'll be a solid shooter 12-17 feet, sooner than later. 3 pointers? I think he'll shoot them too, though how well remains to be seen.

For both guys, I'll still wait on feeling too much until summer league/pre season

of course. it doesn't mean much until you see it in game action.

if no big fish, we need to supplement the roster with players who can help raise these pups.

you probably end up keeping lance thomas for his last year.

i think beverley is still valuable and could want years on his deal. most guys will value time unless you're going to strategically pay on one-year deals like the sixers have done with redick. pat bev might take a one year for significantly more than his per-year long-term price.
