You know...I've really been fighting this urge, but I think I'm just going to lean into it now: **** Kyrie Irving. :curse:

Question from a suns fan who comes in peace. If this AD thing falls through what would you think about going for Beal instead? I think that Brown, and MEM 2020 from you along with our 6th pick would get it done. You guys ship Smart to PHX and we in turn send 6th to DC. Gives you guys a young star player who's contract is locked in. Wiz aren't trying to win next year and that gives them some pieces to build around.

Celts- Beal
Wiz- 6th, Brown, MEM
PHX-Smart

I hope with everything that I have that neither Irving nor AD are here. Sick of chasing after diva players that don’t want to be here and using the ones that do as trade bait.

Going nuclear for one year of AD under the logic of “well Paul George stayed” is pretty flawed. We should only hope he goes to LA and we can watch them rot.

If the AD thing falls through, we should be looking to trade for things like Smart for the 6th pick and gathering assets. (note: Not saying Smart is worth the 6th pick just saying this is the opposite direction we should go if AD deal falls through)

Not for Bradley Beal.

No reason to be the 6-9th seed in the East. It's just delaying the rebuild by a couple of seasons.

Smart was the 6th pick, he's 25, he doesn't turn 26 until March of 2020, he's on a good contract - he's a player you move for Anthony Davis, or Capela, or whoever - not for the sixth pick, with no guarantee the player on the board will turn out to be as good as the one we gave up

LOL. Smart is a first team all NBA defender making barely more than the mid level exception and locked up long term. His deal is one of the 5-6 best in the NBA, not worst.

Im sure PHX would do Smart for 6th I'm kinda surprised that you guys would want another pick when u have 3 already. You wouldn't wanna maximize Horford's last cpl years? I kinda felt he was your MVP this past season.

Grabbing Beal-whos more of a team player then Kyrie would put u there up there competing 4 the east championship I'd imagine.

I really don’t see why we care so much. Did not lose much in the trade. Team very well might be better off without him. He wants to go home, nothing wrong with that.

If 3-team S&Ts are a thing, I’d love to have Conley in here instead. I just don’t want to give up Hayward or Brown for him because I think they’d all complement each other very well.

Same. But just potentially a much more extreme version of those statements, but this pretty much sums it up.

Now onto AD and see what we can do with a Hayward, AD, Horford lineup.

2nd round if things go well and then AD is gone.

You NEED to keep Tatum now. You just have to. If that’s not enough to get AD then so be it.
No you don't need to keep him.

No AD, no Irving.

Means our priorities turn to 21/22 ish year old Brown and Tatum and what matchs their timeline.

Not 32 or 33 year old Horford.

Horford also probably opts out in that world and goes to play for the Warriors for the next 3ish years of his career to get that ring.

As for Smart, he's kind of the ideal 3 and win player. Which unfortunately would win us too many games and no one on our young core has realistic all-star potential outside of Tatum. So we'd need to tank to get Tatum ideally two other players like that to support his reign.

We'd probably also want to trade Rozier. Not a great starter like Smart but he is a good starting level player and would have us win too many games too soon in our rebuilding phase.

Going to have to avoid this thread for a couple weeks when AD is eventually a Laker and the sky collapses for some in here...

If the raps can finish this out and Kawhi stays I think that might the next destination for desperate vets trying get a ring. KD is gone win or lose imo. I agree with you on Marcus Smart he's too big of competitor and has a knack for making game saving plays to want him around on a team that isn't trying to win. That's why I wanted him on PHX last year too, hopefully if he's available we can pull the trigger on that.

Trade #20 and Semi Ojeleye for Dario Saric

3 team trade:
S&T Marcus Morris, pick 14, (and Robert williams if you can add a third guy to S&T's)

Celtics get: Clint Capela

Rockets get: Kelly Olynyk, James Johnson, Marcus Morris ($10M deal)

Heat get: Robert Williams, Eric Gordon, #14.

Sign Rozier to a Jabari Parker like contract 1+1 team option at high salary.

MLE to Payton or Beverly

Draft Kabangele at 22

Rozier/Beverly/

Jaylen/Smart/

Hayward/Saric

Tatum/Kabengele

Capela/Baynes

FWIW - I turned on him after he fired his agent. Sorry I'm late to the party, ladies and gentlemen.

Spoiler:
If he comes back though, I'm back to loving that strange fellow

Are there any good free agents that Danny plans to call on June 30?? We have some decent pieces to use in a sign and trade.

Sign and trades are pretty much dead in the NBA

Back to the tank

Ffs. Jaylen and tatum will probably carry the load then ? Can someone break down the salary cap situation 2 years from now ? Kind of feels we will be developping for 2 more years before gordon and al go off the books

Pretty sure once Horford falls off the books at end if next season and Hayward the year after its coinciding with brown and Tatum's rookie contracts coming up.

We really have bo chance of getting better unless we hit in the draft. Like a Leonard or giannis kind of hit

I can’t wait to wake my wife up in the morning and tell her that game we flew up to see this regular season in November was beating the 2019 NBA champs in OT.

Then she says “huh?” and goes back to sleep
