I was waiting for some third team to come in and piss on our parade. Gotta add tatum. Which was kind of always the case anyways.

Yes kyrie could leave the celtics, there is a risk to that, as well as trading Jayson Tatum and losing both players, but everything you do requires risks.
If the celtics can't meet the pelicans asking price, then walk away. Jaylen Brown is not going to get it done. The pelicans wants a player with all star potential they can sell to their fans. They can't do that with Jaylen Brown.
It makes me sad that I kinda agree they should back off if they have to include Tatum. I want AD so bad but they won't have enough talent to compete if Tatum is gone. Ainge waited years for this and for it not to happen would be a major failure.

#4, Lonzo & Ingram isn't a good deal though, and NO doesn't want to deal with LA either.

We knew all long to get Anthony Davis, it was going to demand a significant package. For years that was known. Why even engage the pelicans if you are not willing to include jayson tatum.
Jaylen Brown was never going to get it done. He is a good player. Has value but not a star player.

Ad is soft...a beta....and Lebrons little pet.
Youre not getting the KG you think you are with him. I dont want anyone associated with klutch
You're taking a very emotional approach and your line of thinking is very personal and emotional. I don't operate that way. I don't let my personal feelings get in the way of the ultimate goal.
KD is also a beta. He's also an mvp talent with two NBA championships and I would take that beta on my team any day. Well.........maybe not now but... Yeah.
Also, I don't think I'm getting KG. I think I'm getting AD.
KD is a beta who won by joining a 73 win team lol. Do you think the current Celtics are a 73 win team? And thats before depleting our roster just to get AD here in te first place.
Not sure how this is an emotional or personal take at all really..just dealing in reality here. It seems to me you're looking for a short cut but not taking into account the long term ramifications if AD bolts (which he's already given every indication of doing)

Maybe a team with little cap flexibility and trying to get over the hump like Houston or Portland would get involved and hope Hayward bounces back??
Capela/ Gordon for Hayward type of deal.
Yeah, something like that.. Boston throws in Williams and a pick or two. Maybe Gordon goes to another team and Houston gets something from that team??

I’d go all in on Davis. Take a shot at a title. If the Lakers get him they’ll be one the most storied franchise officially. Can’t let that happen. Please no. I don’t want to hear that coronation at the end of the year.

Pacers has to be sabonis or turner, hawks has to be Collins....then the added benefit of cap relief pels deal on paper would be ; young players with upside , draft picks and cap relief. If there’s no Tatum which there has to be that is the direction they’ll go

True lakers deal is not a good deal, i have said so myself several times. However if the celtics are not willing to include jayson tatum, and the pelicans let go off of their anger with the lakers, they might be open to taking the lakers offer.

A short cut? I wouldn't call looking to acquire a superstar a "short cut". That's kind of like...........required.....to win championships. Long term ramifications? If we trade for AD and he leaves we won't be a championship team. If we don't, we won't be a championship team.
Either way we won't be close at all to being a championship team and we will be rebuilding after losing both kyrie and AD. At least if we go the AD route we give ourselves a chance to both win in the first year and win him over and get him to stay.

But thats basically saying you have no confidence in the front office to make subsequent trades. You lose Tatum which was a given. You still have a ton of draft picks to make trades. Unless everyone has no faith in the front office to make trades i dont see why you should throw in the towel on trading for Davis.

I agree with you for the most part. I’m not going to say he’s soft, but he’s definitely a beta from the outside looking in.
I know adding him gives us a better chance to win this year, but I don’t think it’ll work as seamlessly as people think it will. If AD got traded to some random team, I’m sure he’d give it his all and then do what he wants next year. I do believe that him, his family, and his agent all specifically hate the Celtics and would half-ass it the whole time here. I also don’t think Kyrie cares who the Celtics get.
If anything, do just enough to make the Lakers unload all of their assets (including Kuz). Make sure they suck with him. Maybe you get him when he’s a bit older, gotten the LA experience and still hasn’t won anything.

He either knows something or he’s kicking the tires to raise the price for LA.
There is a difference between gambling and taking calculated risks. I feel if Ainge gives up too much, for a possible 1 year rental, it will sent this franchise back.
Pelicans are doing there job by getting teams in a bidding war. Someone is going to overpay, I hope it’s not the Celtics.

The pelicans didn't wait until the offseason to get jaylen brown. They waited because of jayson tatum. They could have traded him to the lakers during the trade deadline and be done with it.
Playing hardball might cost us three players if they are not careful. Kyrie chances of staying here without another star player is low. I wouldn't trade Jaylen Brown for Anthony Davis even with the memphis pick included. Jaylen Brown just doesn't have a high value. It sucks but that is the truth.
Lakers can easily beat that offer. Ingram, Kuzma, 4th pick. Done.

Seems like posturing to get Boston to include Tatum. ATL would be dumb to give up Collins for the #4 pick. I can see a #8 & #10 for #4, but not sure how that helps NO much?

I agree with your points and if AD leaves it is a step back. Also have to realize kyrie leaving for nothing is also a step back already
