Has anyone seen a breakdown of why hunter had such a low rebound rate for playing the 4? Maybe caused by system he was playing in? If Hunter improves his rebounding he could be really nice at the 4. (still prefer Clarke for now)

If the deal is Lonzo, Ingram, and Kuzma or #4, can't we beat that offer?

Bumpy, Bucks pick, TJ, and #6

I'd take a risk on AD for that.

And then we'd definitely get some vets to fill out our roster with Booker/Bridges/Oubre/AD/Ayton

Sounds like Kevin Love to me? Maybe Thad Young as a secondary option

The above is why last summer I identified the Hornets as a trade partner. Yes, it was risky to take on Kemba with only one year left - but Marvin would have helped the 4 - the Suns had picks, expirings to trade. There cap is hosed with guys like Marvin, MKG, and Batum. They also had Howard - who would have been expiring this summer too. Alas that turned into Biyombo I believe - really good work by Upchuck there with the Howard contract.

Tyler Johnson (expiring next year) + Josh Jackson + protected pick for Love? Dude is only 30. High character, hard worker. I'd probably only do this if we get a young/solid PG on a rookie contract, since Love & Book will be Max with Oubre around $15MM.

Surprised by this. That's a lot of money to give up, but I guess he's expecting to sign a long term deal worth more than that.

We've also yet to hear from Tyler Johnson on his opting in or out.

120/4 for Love basically. Pretty steep. Turning 31. I like what he brings- rebounding passing, nice shot. Would really need a PG that defends

I don't think love is completely out of the question . Jones played with him so I trust his judgement on love from an on and off court fit.

I doubt the Pistons are looking to move him but I'd call on Griffin before Love if you're going the expensive PF trade route.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Interesting......I wonder how this could impact our draft options if they were to actually do this?

I think Kevin Love is a terrible fit next to Ayton.

Yes, he can spread the floor and rebound, but he's a huge liability on defense. I'd rather have TJ in today's NBA.

For the money, I think I would rather have Blake Griffin than Love but I could see either being targets. Tyler Johnson is a valuable 19.4m and if you add WArren and the Bucks pick - that gets each team out of some cap situations.

I have said it before and its not popular or liked but with all the termoil in Nola with trades, draft and just player movement, I would try to sign Cheick Diallo from under them. I think the dude has the length, skill, defense and personality to play pf next to Ayton. I think a few years of going against AD in practice has this dude developing and overlooked. Big and fluid enough to play PF on ofense AND defense and big and skilled enough to slide to C. Not a streach big (but look at a guy like Deadmon who developed his shot) but an athletic BIG with a midrange game.

https://www.thestepien.com/2019/02/15/deandre-hunter-scarcity/ .

Overall, it's his defensive awareness, lack of willingness to gamble in the passing lanes, gets caught ball watching at times. Doesn't really commit to weak side defense and rim protection despite his size and overall wingspan. He has career averages of: 4 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game, which is really disappointing given his wingspan and fair athleticism. :-?

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/deandre-hunter-1.html.

I'd definitely prefer Clarke over him, Unless they would plan to go back to a free flowing run and gun system. And even then, I'm not sure that Clarke wouldn't be a better option rim running alongside Ayton. But IF we had both Ayton and Hunter running the fast break, that could also be something exciting. As long as we have proficient 3 point shooters on the wings too.

Cheick D would make the Suns Public Enemy #1. How about that Dre and Cube?

Not sure who this guy is - does work for radio in LA on his twitter. Trade seems light for the Pelicans but have to get something. So 1 and 4 if this deal goes through.

We aren’t a player for AD

My realistic offseason plan:

Draft BPA (don't look at position, he'll come of the bench anyway)
Sign Beverley
Trade Jackson and pick (2nd/MIL's/trade down from 6th) for stretch 4
Resign Oubre and Holmes

Return to Phoenix Suns
