It's clear that the Celtics don't want to include Tatum, but are willing to include Brown. I think there is a creative compromise here. I would settle for.... Brown+Smart+14th pick+20th pick+Memphis pick + Brad Stevens. Yes, Brad Stevens. I think he would be a perfect coach for the young Pelicans and would lead to developing Zion nicely.

I hope so..this is just me personally..i'd like for us to keep the core..I dont see AD coming here making us major contenders..Keep the core try preach team culture and make this a team again. We are so far off from being together as an org and as an team.

Let's not act like Tatum is a sure fire future superstar, or even a sure fire future all-star. Right now nothing about him sets him apart from Kuzma or Ingram. Kuzma + Ingram is a much better offer than Tatum.

I agree that adding Kuzma changes the discussion, but from everything we have heard, the Lakers are not willing to give up Kuzma.

I think most team execs would disagree with you re: Tatum vs. Kuzma or Ingram. Tatum's playoff performance last year had a lasting effect on his image. Tatum was also better than both of them almost across the board this season.

He was not better than Ingram prior to his injury. He was playing lights out.

That doesn't matter. Tatum was better than him for the full season, and that's what matters. Ingram's injury isn't some kind of point in his favor. His durability has been a question for a while because of his lean frame, and so his inability to play 60 games for either of the last two seasons hurts his value as a trade asset.

Well, I think it is a big mistake. Top 5/6 players don't grow on trees and waiting for one to become available is not a strategy. At the very least, the Celtics do not have these Brooklyn picks anymore so they are on the same level field now as 29 other teams that are waiting on a superstar to become available. Moreover, the Celtics are good enough that they will probably not get high lottery picks any time soon minus perhaps the Memphis picks. So basically, if the Celtics pass on Davis, unless one of Tatum/Brown becomes a top 5/6 players themselves, then this group of Celtics players rate to be good but not great team for the next few years.

Fair chance Hortford ops out without this trade. Celtics probably lose Kyrie, Hortford, Morris and have to decide on Rozier. They may have more pressure than anyone.

I feel like Memphis should get more in this, but maybe Hayward regains some more powers. I like something like this trade for both sides.

Edit: Actually, I wonder if the Celtics hold back on trading Hayward because he chose them, and it might be perceived as trading someone else who got injured on their watch.

If I were them I'd try trade Hayward for CP3 and consolidate some youth and picks into Favors.

I think the deal is done but Silver doesn’t want it announced during the Finals. The teams can posture about Kuzma or a player for #4 as a way to stall it out. Finals ends, deal gets announced, Kuzma is included and the Pels can claim they got the piece they wanted.

aigne could be creating a bigger monster if he gets davis. reason is bron will force a trade from lakers to whomever which means kawhi will once again add Lakers to his list. then davis will give ainge an ultimatum that he aint resigning so trade me to the lakers. boom anthony davis and kawhi duo for the next 6-8 years vs bron and brow for the next 2-3 years.
