I don't think I'll ever understand the narrative around Durant being a snake, ring chaser, and damaged legacy for joining a great team while LeBron can orchestrate a superteam and people are like "nah it's different".

for example, this **** is ridiculous

fatlever wrote:"I hope he comes back and rips his Achilles in half in the first quarter of the game. Normally I would never root for player to get hurt, but **** Durant. And at least this way if the Warriors do when it'll prove all along that they never needed him to win a championship."

That amount of vitriol is both unnecessary and unhealthy. And it comes from a ton of people out there

Now, mostly that comment was just for shock and awe, but now I kind of feel like maybe I should check to see if I can use a voodoo doll on a few people in my life that pissed me off.

I don't get it either.

In the professional world if someone leaves one job for a better job (more pay, greater career arc, improved benefits, greater responsibility, better culture etc) we say "good on them" - but when it comes to sports, players get bashed for wanting to, and then improving, their circumstances.

now being reported that LAL have offered Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram + #4 for Anthony Davis

Pels also purportedly planning to keep Jrue Holiday. Why?

If they go young like that why would they keep Jrue? I still think he'd be the perfect sidekick to Kemba .... just sayin'

Send Lonzo to Charlotte for 12, Send 4 and 12 to Wizards for Beal, send Beal to Pels for AD...everyone is happy

Jrue would be a great fit next to Kemba

Sign me up none of this dumping salary BS for pick 12, losers do that. That's money we would just overpay a middling FA anyway

I just don’t understand how Anthony Davis is worth all those players. BallI and Ingram were both number 2 picks, They are guaranteeing the 4th pick, and Kuzma would go top 6 in his draft if they redrafted probably.

So you are getting essentially getting 4 top 5 picks for a disgruntled superstar? That should hurt his trade value and then add in the fact he will only resign with 2 teams.

Pelicans are trying to get 125% value on a guy who should be a discount value considering everything.

Pelicans want to compete with Zion now, not wallow in sorrow by trading AD. If they can get a Beal, Murray+Beasley, McCollum type player, then they should do it. Jrue-Beal-Zion would win more games than Lebron+AD and they can rub it in AD's face.

Except me.

The "Ball Circus" needs to stay far away from Charlotte.

I do not want to deal with the "LoNZo sHouLD bE StaRTiNg OvEr tHAt bUm KEmbA" BS from his pop.

I think Lonzo is overrated too...

I wish the Pelicans would trade Jrue. We'd probably get outbid, but Id honestly rather trade for him than Beal.

Eh, Lonzo could play with Kemba and he has everything but shooting which can be fixed. The Ball Circus is overhyped.

I didn't like the move because Golden State / OKC was looking like a classic, and I watch the NBA to be entertained. The playoffs have been less entertaining since the move.

LBJ didn't join KG,Pierce,Allen in Boston after blowing a 3-1 lead in the conference finals or have a westbrook tier player on his team. So it is a little different in my eyes. Lebron got **** until he won in Cleveland.

Just got into an intense argument with a co-worker about who is better Kobe or LeBron?

My argument was that Kobe was not even the bonafide best player in the league for a significant stretch.

What are your thoughts guys?

You're right.

He just:

-Turned the entire FA season into a spectacle
-Colluded with his superfriends and "took his talents" to South Beach to join two All-NBA players and effectively work as the player/GM to build the roster how he saw fit
-Had a party to proclaim "not one, not two, not three"

Then left when the star talent on that team started fading to go back as the "savior" to his old team (that had multiple #1 draft picks), orchestrated multiple trades as the player/GM again to surround himself with the friends of LeBron

Then left again for greener pastures after seeing that team age out of contention, just to go to LA with FoL in tow and undermine the coach and PBO there (ultimately seeing both leave town.. One of which is a Lakers legend) by colluding with agents/AD to get him in town, alienating the players on the team in the process... And generally coasting his way through the season all the way to missing the playoffs.

I see what people mean. What KD did was much more worthy of all the vitriol.

Lebron pretty easily.

The Raptors achieved a couple of historical feats tonight. Congrats to them. Staying in Toronto should be a no-brainer for Kawhi.
