I think you absolutely go for Davis and see what happens. rebuild now or rebuild 11 months later...I'd just assume roll the dice while we still have Horford and Hayward.

If I knew that I’d be getting paid a lot more money and not arguing back and forth with you on real gm. The point remains if AD is on the Celtics Tatum is gone. I’m not even sure how we are debating this.

I'm trying to figure out why you think the Lakers have a superior offer when the last thing NO wants to do is deal with LA and LA's best asset is Ingram, unless you think Kuz is better. You already said Ingram is better than Garland.

I think they have a superior offer WITHOUT Tatum. With him it’s not close. The fact that the pelicans are even having a real dialogue with the lakers there’s at least some level of interest in a deal with them. I’m not saying the lakers deal is great at all- obviously its not knocking the pels socks off but without Tatum it is better than ours.

Your painting me to be like from another planet - almost every single person who talks about trade packages says we throw in Tatum it’s done.

Exactly. Even the Kyrie trade was worth the gamble for you guys. Stars are what win in this league. Would you rather have Ainge as a risk taker or some other GM who keeps trying to outsmart himself by saying we can't take risks to acquire stars. I mean the Boston Celtics are one of the two most historic franchises in the NBA -- and the city of Boston in general expects Championships.

If the Lakers were under the same circumstances, they would be doing the same trade and taking the risks involved. I'm not saying that Ainge should give up the house for him but they should absolutely try and get AD if they can get him at a reasonable price.

This hasn’t nothing to do with me. I’m not making the deals. It’s been reported that Kuz is the most coveted asset here.

Bad move by Danny... Wasted a #8 pick, and the 2018-2019 season on Kyrie.

Danny is a risk taker. That not only means taking risks that turn out well but taking risk that sometimes fall flat. He has taken bad risks before and quickly moved on from them.

What you're also discounting is keeping the team the same might have also turned out badly. Imagine an alternate reality where we keep and re-sign (even if it is only for a year or two) a gimpy IT who still thinks he's the same player and just bricks shot after shot. Where we keep the role players around him who we dealt away with our young guys buried deep in the bench and not getting playing time to develop. We're probably an even bigger dysfunctional mess.

Now maybe he should've waited and shipped IT off for say Paul George instead. He certainly should've taken the risk for Kawhi. Then again if Toronto falls short and Kawhi runs off to the Clippers... maybe not.

Its all a risk. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some. And on the whole Danny has a pretty good record with the risks he has taken.

I'll put it this way, if he gets AD for Tatum, and AD walks after a year, then Ainge is out of touch with this generation of players and needs to retire.

That was actually a really crappy trade. Probably Ainges worst one. Pretty sure he's admitted he botched that up. Reaf was horrible.

Brown = Ingram
Smart = Ball
Mem pick = 4th pick

Plus we can add a few more picks.

Yea but the difference is you aren't "rebuilding 11 months later"

If he bails in that scenario on top of what Irving appears to be doing, you're throwing away a good 90% of everything you've accomplished since 2013.

Ainge would be out the door within the year through his own decision because you cant get fired if you're a Celtic but ainge doesnt have another decade in him to start a complete overhaul.
