Re: Around The NBA X
People are always quick to give GSW ownership and FO a lot of credit for being smart and always doing the right things and making sound decisions.
And it may all have been true until this KD fiasco.
His injury is a travesty and extremely poorly handled by that organization.
The move to play him through and watching him tear his Achilles was a pure desperation move by the franchise that will have a lasting impact on his career and their legacy as a franchise.
Very poorly done.

Warriors as a team make some boneheaded mistakes when out under pressure. It's just that they've had too much talent to ever be under serious pressure more than once.

Give me a break. In the end Durant made the decision to play not GSW.

Re: Around The NBA X
They should have shut him down .
Players always want to play.
FO could have told him no.
I guarantee you that he would not have played if they had been up 3-1 instead of down 3-1.

GS should have protected Durant and just said he was out for the season. This was mishandled, obviously now.
Insane that he was cleared by these doctors... or cleared but with risk of possible serious injury?.. I do wonder what actually was said about this "calf" injury.
All of those doctors got this wrong.

On the other hand, KD was leaving the team anyway so why do him a favor. Why reduce their own chances at getting back on the series.

Re: Around The NBA X
Once again the Raptors are chucking 3's at the end when all they need is a high percentage 2.... ugh... the "new" NBA sucks to watch from an execution standpoint at times.

Re: Around The NBA X
Nice to see Ibaka and Marc win... Kawhi's a machine... Proved what he needed to.
Great job by the Toronto front office to get this team together.
Bad luck for the Warriors... At full strength, I think it would have been one-sided for them instead.
Now lets get that little Davis thing taken care of and move on.

Man this was Currys moment to shine. Had a good look off a well designed play. What is he now 0-8 these finals with 20 seconds or less. That's ridiculous.

Thankfully the season is over. Let the biggest off-season for the Lakers in a very long time begin!

Re: Around The NBA X
This series was painful to watch in many ways. The execution by both teams was not very good. The Raps could have let another game slip away tonight with just flat out dumb shot selection down the stretch again.
Good to see GS lose quite frankly. Never been a fan of them from way back. The Raps will be hard pressed to keep the core of this group together I'd think. Should be interesting to see if Leonard is really in play now that he's won a chip with that team.

3's late in long and hard fought games are tough because of leg fatigue. He didn't get the rise he typically gets on that shot.

Re: Around The NBA X
I think Kawhi wanted to prove to the league that he was an alpha dog that could lead a team to a championship... I think he felt Pop was holding him back and hurting his brand and his legacy... I think it probably went farther than he planned but at the end of the day, he accomplished what he wanted in Toronto.
I'm not sure I buy the idea that since he won a Championship there, he has to resign. I also think he knows they were incredibly fortunate to be in the finals, and that it's not very likely they'll repeat.
So IDK... It could still go either way, but my money is he's leaving... I think if he comes here, it's because we got AD, and it's a chance to be part of a dynasty in his home town.

Re: Around The NBA X
Not to be a hater, but to me this is just a forgettable title. Raptors probably gonna go down as the worst champ in recent memory. I wanted the warriors to have their dynasty beat, but hate to see injuries take the title from the dynasty warriors and not a better team.

Fortunate? They were the best regular season team. They added his best buddy in Danny Green. They let him and Lowry both rest throughout the year. They paid for Marc. He really only had Phili to worry about and even then Tobias, JJ, and Jimmy are free agents. They are better than Boston and they are smarter than the Bucks. No luck in that at all other than the bounce vs the Sixers. Really and truly with the Warrior injuries the Sixers are likely the best team they met and the third best team in the league period actually

Could be right for sure but my guess is that he will get a huge fan reaction to stay. We'll see if that means anything to him. The best players used to have that connection but it seems to be different with the current crop of best players for sure.
