The best team the Raptors faced in the playoffs was the Sixers, and they were a legit top 3 team in the league.

Sixers get their ass next year.

Hey, Congrats to the Raptors.

Not sure there are too many teams out there that could make a series competitive without someone like KD and then lose Klay...So tip of the cap to GSW.

That all being said, I'm still sick about that game 7 loss. No Embiid swine flu and this could easily be us. #RunItBACK!

Good for the Raptors fans. Hopefully they calm down now.

2020 blueprint

Step 1: Install hand sanitizer in the locker room
Step 2: Win an NBA championship

Or not get multiple shot clock violations in the final 4 minutes of a game 7 where you can't even get a shot off, and not shoot 6-18 from the field.

That said, Embiid was surely being facetious.

Showed him leaving on crutches, the way his leg bent you would think a minimum of an MCL strain or cartilage.

Also for all I hear about Draymond being a high IQ guy, I don’t see it, he’s made some of the stupidest mistakes I’ve ever seen in this game.

Then again, Cousins guarding FVV at the 3pt line and Kerr may be the new contender.

Wrong again as usual, Klay tore his ACL, WOW!!!

This FA will be nuts.

Will the Warriors max two guys not playing next year??

Was about to ask the same thing

Some folks are taking it for granted that the Sixers would have beaten Milwaukee in the conference finals. I'm not so sure at all. Raptors played better after the series against us. They hit their stride. I say this not as a knock against the Sixers, but as counsel for folks not to beat themselves up too much.

Completely agree. It's the whole Butterfly Effect. You can't just swap out teams and expect the same result or that the same injuries would have occurred to the Warriors if they didn't take the exact the wrong step at the exact wrong time that they did.

Just imagine if #1 pick Markelle Fultz was even half as good as UDFA Nick VanVleet...

Toronto winning is good news though. It's proof that in time a franchise can recover from Brian "The Franchise Killer" Colangelo.

To be a fair, a Nick Van Exel/Fred VanVleet hybrid would be really good (though I guess their skill sets would overlap a lot, so not crazy good).

Yeah, that's true. The math of "we came the closest to beating them so we'd beat the other teams" doesn't really add up. I do think they'd have decent odds to beat the Bucks (who I thought we matched up way better with than Toronto going into the playoffs) and a hobbled Warriors though.

Although I wouldn't say it was a matter of them hitting their stride after playing us, I think their small guards had legitimate issues with the Sixers size on the perimeter.

Who knows what would have happened? All I know is the Sixers have a great chance to win the title next year.

With the Raptors winning the title, the odds have increased that the team just maxes out Butler and Harris, does their best to add some pieces around them and Ben and Jo, and goes for it now and worries about the potentially bad contracts later.

The stars are aligned for the 76ers to make their best push ever next season. Hakeem Olajuwon capitalized on his opportunity when MJ was out of the league. Embiid needs to lead the team and capitalize on the opportunity in front of him and them.

Anyone in the know. Can Kawhi Leonard sign a 1+1 contract this off season. Would their be any advantages for him doing that besides having a chance to repeat?

And I wonder how the Spurs are feeling right about now.
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Well that was a bit disappointing. You usually need luck to win a title and we didnt have any.

The Raptors were lucky they were able to capitalize on the Leonard situation and they were lucky with the injuries their opponent faced. That was enough to win the title despite not being the best team.

This win should give hope to any treadmill team in the league.

Minus the Raptors winning the championship, a Sixers and Bucks match-up in the playoffs this year was my #1 desire. That would have been a ferocious series.

Agree and disagree. Middleton and Bledsoe were erratic to poor in the Toronto series. No reason they would have played any better or worse against us. Embiid wasn't in form - missed too many games and was out of shape. Thus going up against two all-defensive centers was too much given the circumstances. He would have played better against Lopez.

Giannis wasn't reliable down the stretch. Basically Toronto played him like they played Simmons except Giannis had four more years to develop his game and, at this stage in his career, perhaps at any stage, is a better player.

Budenholzer coached the way Brown would like to - just shoot 'em up. The Raptors played deliberately. I'm of the view that Budenholzer's style played into the Raptors' strengths, also contributed to Toronto runs.

The biggest wildcard IMO would have been George Hill, especially with Embiid gassed half the time he was on the court and with Brown reluctant to use his bench.

In the end, the Bucks probably would have beaten us because they are deeper. On the other hand, I believe our starting five matched up better against them.

The biggest tell in my opinion is that Embiid was erratic shooting his mid-range jump shot. In the regular season before he went down, he made that shot. And it wasn't just defense.
