Off-Season Improvements

Post#1 » by jaymo123 » Fri Jun 14, 2019 3:54 am

Now that the season is over, what are some improvements you all would like to see? Here is what I want to see the dubs add:

- better bench
- shooting coach for Draymond
- better one on one game for Steph
- Most importantly, HEALTH.

Depends on KD,
If he comes back for a 5 year, make minor adjustments.
If he’s gone I would trade draymond + filler/iggy to the Celtics for GH and brown.
I love draymond but his game won’t age well when he gets a 5 year + next season.
I think GH can take over some of his passing skills ( draymond is better of course but has a lot of tos).
Hayward is also big and can shoot + defend.
We need 4-5 shooters on the floor next season if Durant doesn’t sign.
And move to more pick and rolls.

Also draft bol bol by trading up if he falls.

1st: Resign Klay, Durant, Looney, Cousins.

Then: Transform the roster spots of Livingston, Jerebko, Bell, Jones, Evans, Bogut into (3) 2-way, NBA finals caliber players.

Profit

Also, i should point out that the Warriors should not be trading their 2020 first or any future first without heavy pick protections. If we have any injuries next season we could pick in the teens.

Depends on KD, if he stays then you have no real flexibility and Bob simply must nail a pick next two drafts.

If he leaves it gets interesting tho specially if AD lands somewhere he doesn't want to be in, tho I think he's pretty much a Laker now for sure.

I would take Cosuins if he can't secure any offers, I'm pretty sure he can because I'm betting KD and Kemba stay where they are so too much money for not enough people, also 2020 FA's suck after AD so teams aren't gonna shy away from 2 year big money contracts which is about as good as DMC can do IMO.

What the W's must do IMO is actually sign a multi year deal with their TPMLE, we've been doing the one year thing and that's why we never "add" a player, it's gonna cost Lacob an arm and a leg but it's the only way you get out of D-league bench.

Reliable shooters with abililty to switch on defense.

I don't want to see ANY additions where the guy is suspect as a shooter....

I think there is a high probability that Durant signs here....rebahbs while Green, Curry and Klay have a solid regular season....Then Warriors win another chip. :)

Looking further ahead, what's the impact if we don't bring Draymond back on a new contract?

Any chance a contender would take him in a trade next season?

I'll admit I don't know as much about the cap situation for us, feel free to school.

We need better defenders who can also shoot some threes.
Obviously needs to see what KD/Klay does but that will be the plan. We cant win games trying to outgun them, we need to play defense.

Re-signing Klay and Looney are the obvious top priorities. I would like to say KD is one as well but who knows if he wants to return.

I would guess the MLE will go to the best Small Forward they can find for the price. It's going to be a rough offseason. Myers just doesn't have much flexibility.

No thanks on Cousins, use that MLE elsewhere.

We can give Cousins a 20% raise without using the TPMLE.
He should be in better shape next season (at least i'd like to think so).

Why do people want to trade Dray? He is crucial to this teams core.

Is Steph still working with that guy with the tennis balls and the flashing lights, etc during the off season?

I think we can resign Cousins without using the MLE on him.

I would like a guy that can start next year while KD recovers, then replace Iggy as the 6th man the following year. Maybe Rudy Gay.

Steph/Klay/Gay/Green/Looney/Cousins/Iguodala core.

Depth with Jones/Evans/draft pick.
Two way end of bench guys Mckinnie/Lee/Derrickson

What can they do? You have a late first round pick and the taxpayers Mid Level Exception. What's that going to get you? Austin Rivers and another rookie that can't contribute.

Rudy Gay or Trevor Ariza are not happening. Both will be out of our price range.

I think it’s more about what he’ll bring in 3-5 years more than next year. I love Draymond but I think it’s a legit question to ask if a max contract will be worth it or if we can pull an Eddie DeBartolo and get something for him early.
