I think
Pass First
Defensive minded is what we need.
I don't think scoring is my #1 concern for PG. If we don't have a PG who can set up Ayton. I think we failed moving forward.
I will still stand by Lonzo Ball . I hate his Dad but I think moving him out of the LA spotlight with Lebron. He will improve his shooting (yes FT shooting sucks) make him shoot 1000 balls a day over the summer. Develop his shot. If he had a shot he would be an all star in the future. I think he is better than any #6 we can get.
Its hard.
I agree with the FO that a good combo guard is the way to go. Booker is too good to take the ball out of his hands all game. he is a SG that can average 7 assists a game if need be, but Bookers also smart and a lot of that come from him reading the situation and doing what he can with it, and for that he needs the ball. You take a guy like Ball or even Rubio and to a certain extent Simmons and the moment they dont have the ball in their hand they become pretty useless. Look how bad Ball looked when Lebron joined the team and he was controlling the ball around 50% of the time. Defenses would slack off Ball and were afforded the luxury of double teaming someone else. Simmons was major exposed this year because of the same thing. If you cant hit a shot then you cant be on the court.
So you grab a guy like PatBev. He can score if need be, he can hit the 3, and he can defend. The ball can be out his or Booker hands and they can still produce and not become just a useless player running around the court unguarded. If the player is a threat to hit a shot or score then he will always be guarded.
So grab a good combo guard that can defend, and honestly PatBev is the best available that can fill those roles. Now would he want to come here is an entirely different question.
