And if I am the RAptors - I really don't care if he leaves or not. He got thema title.

(granted, easy for me to say as a bystander but really - they got a championship - if he wants to leave - look at at that trophy and smile )

If he does leave we should make a play for Lowry. Championship pedegree and a professional player who does a lot of things right-things that a young team like ours could learn from. He could teach Okobo and Melton a thing or 2. Raps will probably wanna rebuild around Pasqual if Kawahi leaves so maybe Tyler Johnson, MIL pick and another pick maybe can get it done...?

If Kawhi leaves and they get back OG, I think they will still be in the thick of things in the east. Their overall win % this year was 70.7%. They were 17-5 in games Kawhi didn't play which is a 77.27% win %.

Obviously he's huge for the playoffs, but Pascal probably gets better along with Van Vleet and getting OG back. I don't think you tear down a team like that...after a championship...trade the heart of your team like Lowry. Now maybe after next year since all those guys expire.

I guess you never know with Masai though..maybe he figures he gets something from Lowry, Serge and Gasol in their last years, but it would be kind of weird to just completely break up a championship team.

GSW is down for at least a year, Houston has shown cracks, Denver is young and overrated, Portland is beatable.

Really my main concern is the Claw joining that scrappy Clippers team.

If the Claw stays east along with Kyrie, then the West looks open, ESPECIALLY when you factor in Booker/Oubre/Ayton improving.

If we can add AD and keep Booker/Oubre/Ayton, that's a solid core.

We should at least offer #6, TJ, our 2020 1st (top 4 protected,or it defaults to the Bucks pick), and filler.

Booker/AD/Ayton could be the next big 3. And if we keep Oubre and Bridges...wow.

I'd imagine NOP would want Bridges as well.

I'm not 100% Masai is back himself the Wizards are rumored to be offering him part ownership in the team- along with a ton of money. I agree it would be weird to tear it all down but does anyone think they're really doing anything if Kawhi leaves? Besides they just bought themselves a ton of goodwill with their fans, they can do whatever they want and still be cool with their fans.

I hope Kawhi comes back btw I don't think any of us wants him in LA plus I wanna see these 2 teams run this back again next year with a fully healthy Klay.

I want Kawhi to go to the Clippers. I want him to have the mentality, that if he goes to the clippers he will take Lebron's crown as the king of LA. Would love to see him join the Clippers. and have Butler go there as well!

Unless its the Clippers - I think Kawhi stays in Toronto. Do the 1+1 - so able to keep increasing his yearly salary. Granted he turned down $221 from the Spurs so that may not be important as winning to him. A person that was with him at SDSU and now the Raptors said Kawhi is all about winning. It just seems with the core in Toronto especially if they run Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka out one more year, improvement from Siakam, Anunoby and Van Vleet - they will be right there. Plus veteran Free AGents will want to go to Toronto

The Clippers can make a compelling case though. You add Kawhi and another player (not Butler -I think duplicative) -not sure who - but the Clippers would be able to get the right second player - does JJ Reddick go back to LA for instance. They might be able to make a push with Kawhi in the West.

I am going to say this with near certainty - the team Kawhi plays for - all things considered in terms of roster (so thats Toronto keeping the group and adding a player or two) or a team like the Clippers - are the favorite in that conference with the injuries for GSW.

Lavine is pretty good - but that doesn't seem like a great deal for AD. But what can you do if you are Griffin

I wonder if this makes Kris Dunn available.

If Kawhi leaves I hope he just starts going to teams that are close for 1 year and tries to win like 6 championships with 6 different teams. Just lean into it and be the biggest mercenary in sports history. He could then go into the Hall of Fame wearing a blank jersey which would be very on brand :)

I don't know...being a fan as long as I have, I just think beginning a rebuild when you won 77% of your games without Kawhi, and still would be in the hunt is kind of ridiculous. I could see maybe retooling a going a little younger, but let them enjoy defending their title and give their fans the fun of competing too...don't tear it all down..nothing is guaranteed in a rebuild...as we all well know.

I feel like we'll have an answer one way or another by draft time. I mentioned this in the trade forum but Denver should look long and hard at AD. Murray, Harris and MPJ would get it done and beat any LAL deal easily. Then you have AD and Jokic making the most unstoppable front court in league and the easy favorites in the west.

Oh yeah IF the Lakers get AD this summer it will happen in the next couple of days so the pels can make that pick.

I 100% agree Denver should make a run at him.

AD and Kawhi - quite the team they would be. Some team should be aggressive but if Griffin truly wants a deal by the draft - and now the playoffs are over - he has a whole week of drama to himself - I would think a deal gets done early next week. Don't rain on the US OPen golf .

Backcourt would be thin though. I guess they'd go with Morris and Barton. I like them both but not much after that. Also if Barton played 2, that leaves the 3 pretty thin...Torry Craig. You'd still have Beasley at 2 and Hernangomez at 3 but still pretty thin overall for 1 year of AD...and then losing Murray, Harris and Porter, Jr for good.

Oh yeah IF the Lakers get AD this summer it will happen in the next couple of days so the pels can make that pick.

I 100% agree Denver should make a run at him.

Clippers need to go hard for AD

Then AD needs to convince clippers to sign Kawhi , and Butler

Run

Beverly

Our over/under for wins next year is 25.5, the lowest in the NBA other than Cleveland. Only two other teams under 31.5, which are the Bulls and Grizzlies at 27.5.
