ANNOUNCEMENT

The draft will begin tomorrow morning at 6AM when the Indiana Pacers go on the clock. Each team will be able to make their draft pick during their designated time slot. The draft order and time slots are located on the last post in the Mega Thread and will be updated throughout the draft. A team may draft at any time that they are on the clock by PM'ing their selection to me. You may also pick earlier then your time slot if the team ahead of you has had their pick posted. If you do not think that you can be online during your time slot to make your pick, feel free to PM me a list, in order, of your targets and I will make the selection for you. If a team does not make their pick in its allotted time they will be skipped and the next team can immediately make their pick via PM. Any team that has been skipped by three teams will have their selection made for them by me using the highest remaining player in the nbadraft.net mock draft. Each team is responsible for making sure that you have both the cap space and the roster space to sign your drafted players. Any draft pick that is unable to sign with the team that drafted them will be put on the EL. The team then has until the trade deadline in February to matke the necessary room for that player. If a team can not sign a draft pick by the trade deadline then that player will sit the year out and become an UFA next offseason.

Question about picks...so i have 4 picks and 3 open roster spots. Do the first 3 picks automatically occupy roster spots right away or can i pick which picks occupy roster spots?

For example, in the real NBA a lot of 2nd round picks dont even make rosters and teams may not sign them. Is there an option or time period where we can wait and see if we want to sign them?

Make the picks. Then decide who you want to sign to the active roster and exempt list the other(s).

For you specifically, assuming you keep all four picks, your #60 selection will be put on the EL until you can make roster room for him. You would have until the deadline to make the room for him if he is in the NBA and in the SIM.

If that player doesn’t sign a contract though he can stay on your EL all year.

A player who ends the year on your EL must have either not been in the sim or not signed to an NBA contract IRL. Therefore the team has the option to take a year off of the contract or keep the contract as it was at the beginning of the season.
