Ot but i was watching jalen rose today and he said something about the raptors not matching a huge offer by the wizards for masai. I love jalen but why does he think the raptors are poor? lmao. Im pretty sure he said the same thing when we fired casey, hired nurse because it was the cheaper option or something

Re: PG: Raps in 6ix. NBA Champs
Think back to the end of last season. The warriors swept the Cavs. They easily had the strongest team. Especially ever since they added KD. Then that summer, they add Boogie Cousins.
A LOT of people said the season was a write off and to just give warriors the chip.
But no, Masai went all in. Masai told us to Believe in this city, Believe in yourselves.
And we kept fighting. Even when everyone crowned Milwaukee the new kings of the East for having the best record in the league. People were quick to ignore the fact that we were only 2 wins behind them. They also conveniently forgot that Kawhi was on load management for like 20 games.
But it was fine. We kept fighting. The Raptors have always played better with a chip on their shoulders anyways.
And look at us now. The rest is history.

I dont understand, Masai is under contract.

Hahahaha.
I went to so many games with him in the lineup. So different to our current squad.

Re: PG: Raps in 6ix. NBA Champs
Right now, every other dork on r/NBA and some saps in the media are doing the whole "well kudos to the Raptors, but..." thing in response to the Warriors injuries.
Yet everyone in both the media and online is SALIVATING about next season, how it will be wide open because the Warriors aren't looming over everything like an existential nightmare.
So let's see, the battle for the title next year will be great because the full strength Warriors don't exist anymore, but the Raptors should have beat the full strength Warriors... All you need to translate that to is... people are idiots

I think he was referring to how MLSE couldn't match an offer like the Wizards where they were reportedly going to offer Masai an ownership stake in addition to the higher salary -- which makes sense given that Rogers and Bell own 37.5% each.
