Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
Cristiano Felicio would be a great trade chip in a straight up swap for one of Ian Mahinmi, Bismack Biyombo, or Marvin Williams to ease WAS or CHA's luxury tax. The Bulls shouldn't expect any picks coming with Mahinmi or Williams, but Biyombo might come with a 2nd rounder.
Then call up Portland and see if they'd listen to a Dunn+Valentine+Blakeney for Turner+#25 deal. This helps them with their luxury tax obligations and gives them some decent bench pieces. The Bulls get a late first rounder and eat the last year of Turner's deal.
Use whatever cap room is remaining to just fill out the roster with what you can on one year deals (or with team options for 2020-2021). I would target Rajon Rondo to help mentor the young team and put them in a position for success (while low-key getting him ready to replace Boylen).
2019-2020 Bulls:
PG Rondo
SG Lavine
SF Porter
PF Markkanen
C Carter
Bench:
Hutchison
#7
#25
#37
Mahinmi/Biyombo/Williams
Vet Min (Wayne Selden or TLC?)
Vet Min (Shaq Harrison or Ryan Arcidiacono?)
Go into the 2020 offseason with a bunch of cap room and an estimated $120mm cap:
OPJ ($28.5mm)
Lavine ($19.5mm)
Markkanen ($6.7mm)
Carter ($5.5mm)
Hutchison ($2.5mm)
2019 #7 ($5.6mm at 120% of rookie scale)
2019 #25 ($2.2mm at 120% of rookie scale)
2019 #37 (assume two-way, so $0.5mm)
2020 1st (assume $6mm)
2020 2nd (minimal)
Any other draft assets they may have.
They'd have around $50mm of cap room available going into the 2020 offseason. If any of Lavine, Markkanen, Carter, or (less so) Porter take a notable step in their development, the Bulls could start to look like a meaningful free agent destination. PARTICULARLY if any of the 2019 picks look like they're going to be real players in this league.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Chicago Bulls are willing to trade Zach Lavine to the Pelicans as a part of the Anthony Davis trade in exchange for the 4th pick (and possibly more) from the Lakers.

"and possibly more" would be the key. Ball + 4 is

 Ingram + 4 is maybe
4 plus future picks is

 Straight up for 4?

"Willing" to trade Zach Lavine is longshot from what Lowe actually said, which was that Lavine was a player that came to mind when thinking about the Pelicans were asking for (in reference to a young player with all star potential)

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
GarPax biggest strength is the draft.
If they're convinced of an available star at #4, I would be down with Lavine for #4 and more, whether it's a future first rounder, 4 second rounders, getting out of Felicia albatross contract, or Lonzo Ball.
I'm glad that we're active and not sitting on our ass, waiting for things to happen.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
I actually really like LaVine, but going to throw this idea out there.
Bulls Trade: LaVine and Felicio
Bulls Get: Bradley Beal and Lonzo Ball
Lakers Trade: Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, 4th Pick, Lonzo Ball
Lakers Receive: Anthony Davis
Pelicans Trade: Anthony Davis & Solomon Hill
Pelicans Receive: Zach Lavine, Brandon Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma
Wizards Trade: Bradley Beal
Wizards Receive: 4th Pick, Felicio, Solomon Hill
Hinges a lot on the Pelicans preferring LaVine to Beal, because they could certainly cut us out if they wanted to.

Lavine for #4 & Ball? I'd be interested in a trade like that. That's a lot of youth coming in. I like Zach, not a fan of trading him overall.

I like LaVine too, but LaVine and Felicio for Beal and Ball would be a double win for the Bulls.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

Yeah it's good we ( Bulls fans) are active in this thread and forum.
But we don't have power or influence to affect on that how GarPax does their job they're management staff for a reason.
And we are fans so our job is support the team and want all the best for the Bulls to bring those success years back to Windy City.
Being NBA team's GM isn't easy task GM needs to do difficult decisions which can hurt the team rebuild isn't never easy process.
Even i don't wanna see Zach LaVine getting traded but i understand that if Bulls trades Zach it's not for personal reasons it's a business reasons.
Yes Bulls have made statement on that Lauri and Wendell aren't trade block right now.
But situations can change fast and if allstar level superstar like Anthony Davis is available for trade then GarPax has to do all what they can to bring Davis to the Bulls.
Yes there's 99,99% odds on that Bulls isn't Davis landing spot but who actually even knows where Davis wants to get traded it's not his decision it's New Orleans Pelicans decision. Davis can say he wants to play with Lebron but New Orleans Pelicans decides that where Davis will get traded and what is the price.

Are you sure on that Wizards really wants Felicio?
Felicio's trade value is highly negative due to his overpaid contract so if Wizards won't accept Felicio even a salary dump then that trade won't happen. And yes even i want Felicio out of the Bulls he's total garbage. But as i said i wouldn't hold my breath to see Felicio getting traded. But if there is chance to buy him out then GarPax should do it immediately.

Re: Trade Thread: Armchair GMs welcomed
If Bulls really wants to trade Zach LaVine why they prefer trade him to Lonzo Ball?
Why not GarPax won't ask for the New York Knicks are they interested to trade Zach for Mitchell Robinson and 3rd overall pick.
Yes Ja Morant won't be available for 3rd pick but Darius Garland probably will so why not at least try that trade?
Yeah Robinson is center but Bulls need that back-up center too and if GarPax isn't high Bol Bol they have to consider someone else.
But what then if Robin Lopez is ready to take big paycut in his salary and stay in the Bulls for a mentor role then there's no reason to try get Robinson.

I think lavine is better then beal I know most will disagree but I want no part of beal he has that cousins attitude to him plus zach trade would be really bad since he might take another step up and be way better next year

Before everyone wastes their time on this, here is an accurate account of what Lowe said, according to someone who actually listened to him:
"I listen to the podcast. That is not what Zach Lowe said. He said 'if I were the Lakers, I would contact the Bulls because Zach Lavine would be somebody that would be perfect in a 3 way trade and I would think the Bulls would do that for the fourth pick.'"

This seems like the most likely outcome, but who knows, only a few days before we at least know what we do with the pick.
I still like the idea of going after Satoransky, take advantage of the Wizards salary issues, if we put a bit of a poison contract in we can at least make them cringe if they match.
Screw this #4/Lavine talk, ugh.

No sane GM would trade a top 5 pick for Lavine.
Even if Lavine turned out to be the better player, the rookie is way more cost controlled.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

I think you have it backwards. No sane GM would trade Lavine for even the #4 pick, especially in this draft.
