Guys that will be disappointments based on where they're projected to be drafted:

1. RJ Barrett #3: Feel bad for the Knicks honestly. They'll be forced to select Barrett by outside pressure, but he's not going to be the star fans expect from the #3 pick in a draft. Barrett has a lot of Evan Turner in his game. He handles and passes the ball well enough to fool you into thinking he can be a secondary facilitator and he has enough irrational confidence to make you believe he can be a go-to scorer without being a good shooter. Doesn't have one elite level NBA skill, but somehow is projected as a star player.

2. Brandon Clarke #8-14: His size will force him to be a SF in the NBA and he will be an absolute zero on offense. 23 years old. Can't shoot. Only has one offensive move: The Okafor-Fultz, college spin-off the defender, to the basket. He should be able to defend either forward spot credibly, but I doubt a team will play him enough to justify using a lottery pick on him.

3. KZ Okpala #15-25:. Awkward. Skinny. Not a good shooter. Not a great ballhandler for a guy who is allowed to dribble so much on his college team. His length will get him drafted but he doesn't have a go;to NBA level skill for any specific position in an NBA lineup.

4. Grant Williams #24-45: Extremely undersized PF, who is not quick enough to defend anyone his size and isn't a floor stretcher. Has no position in an NBA lineup. Will probably have to go to Europe to be successful. But he could be the type of bench player a coach falls in love with to challenge guys in practice.

Still my favorite non NAW or Dedric Lawson prospect. Had a very Donovan Mitchell type season. Not comparing the two, but should raise an eyebrow.

Hachimura is a guy that I can't determine whether he will be successful or not until I see who drafts him. He has some "Poor Man's" Tobias Harris in him, but I don't think he moves as well as Tobias did in college. I don't think he'll be able to defend NBA SF's. If he's taken in the lottery, I think he will disappoint a team expecting him to do a lot, but if he gets drafted by a very good team, I could see him being successful as a scorer in the right system.

I keep hoping he killed it and raised eyebrows in the workout with us.....Think he is worthy of 24. I was encouraged when they said that he made "All of the shots" in our workout that day. He's athletic, can handle the ball and create with it in his hands, is fantastic in transition attacking the basket and shooting the ball. Hes also going to defend and bring hustle, which will likely make him a fan favorite in this city.

Also love what you hear from his coaches and others around him. Dude is apparently a gym rat and extremely coachable willing to work on whatever the team needs. Sounds like the perfect type of kid Brett and his staff would like to have in the system.

While Zhaire isn't necessarily your prototypical 3-man, I think you could have Zhaire and Terrence Davis playing together off the bench. Davis could be your scoring "2" or even operate as the teams combo guard/scoring point at times, while Zhaire can focus of defending, making open jumpers and cutting/slashing to the basket.

Anchor the 2nd unit with an athletic defensive 5 and a stretch 4 and you have yourself the structure of a really solid 2nd unit with upside of having potentially 2 starting wings in the waiting.

realistic example Bench:
*Javal McGee (1 year contract, Big, Athletic, blocks shots, rebounds, can run the floor unlike Amir/Boban)
*Stretch Big (Mike Scott re-signed, Dedric Lawson-draft 2nd round, Jeff Green- vet min FA contract)
Zhaire Smith (athleticism, defense, spot up shooting, cutting)
Terrence Davis (defense, 3 level scoring, athleticism )
*Backup PG who can shoot (Joseph-FA,Collison-FA,Carsen Edwards-Draft)

You also have Shake developing as a combo scorer, Bolden developing as a athletic stretch 4/5 and bring in some shooting specialists to fill out the roster.

Dray was a triple double threat every night with a high steal percentage and ridiculous defensive number at Mich State. Paschall fell a bit short of that at Villanova, imo.

I think it's Davis's hustle plays that really intrigues me. If you look at Kawhi in the playoffs, he was the guy always around the loose balls. Mix high effort with high instinct (AST% and STL% suggest he has just that) then you have yourself a stud.

Nah, not that type of defense, he is more like a JaMychal Green type, good shooting, solid switchy D, not a complete player but should be a solid rotation PF

2 guys that will undeniably be able to fill a role are Dylan Windler and Cam Johnson. Both are flat out dead eye 3 point shooters and that will always be a valuable skill on this team. Both are also 6'7+ and both at least average athletes. I think both could be molded to solid 3 and D guys that can play a 15-20 min role off the bench.
Of course both probably have a limited ceiling so it would be a safe pick for a role player vs some of the potential higher reward guys.

Windler is intriguing if the Sixers are hellbent on taking a sharpshooter.

He can shoot the rock at a high level with a quick release.
He was somewhat active on Defense, getting almost 1.5 steals a game and .6 blocks, and also rebounded the ball extremely well for a wing. Doubt he will ever be a good on ball defender at the next level though.
He tested out well at the combine athletically. (Near top 10 in lane agility, top 5 in shuttle run, 37.5 max vert)
Decent size 6'7.5" in shoes, 6'10" wingspan.

I do worry about his ability to handle the ball and create scoring outside of just shooting.....but in this system, shooters have thrived.

In the NBA, I think he could have a Doug McDermott or Mike Dunleavy Jr type of career.

I'm on the fence about this kid, I seen thim vs Temple and Nate Louis Pierre a 6-2 PG completely SHUT HIM DOWN. The announcers hyped him up and he was completely taken out the game by 1 game. In the next game of the tournament he bounce back to have a good game. I think he's more skilled and we'll rounded then people give him credit for also a very good rebounder. I wouldn't take him at 24 but as a 2nd rounded would be perfect

Windler was awful against good competition and as a shooter he's awkward moving, he can shoot it no doubt but he is like poor man's Doug McDermott, with less scoring tools than Dougie and less athleticism, he is kinda Steve Novak-ish

Just got around to watching some Garland highlights. Kind of a weird shot but otherwise looks awesome. Looks like he's exactly what the Bulls need.

Bulls? If he gets past the Sun's pick, that GM should be fired on the spot.

... and speaking of shots... have you seen Coby White's jumper? He's gonna get a lot of jumpers blocked back in his face.

Well it seems like 4 is for sale, they could trade up.

I think here’s at least a chance the Suns would rather go with a vet at point guard. They’ve been bad for a long time and I think it might be getting to them.

I don’t get what happened with White. Around the tournament I saw him getting mocked to the Sixers now people are talking about him like a top 5 pick? I watched a fair amount of unc and was never that impressed. Would have been happy if the Sixers took him but this seems kind of crazy.

Roy Williams happened. He can make OK players look great or make good players look bad, depending on how he runs his team on a given year. He gave White free reign this year because he lost Joel Berry Jr, and he runs his PGs. Coby White is a 3rd guard in the NBA. Maybe even a 6th man of the year candidate in 5 years.. But someone is going to spend a top 7 pick on him to be a star PG and he isn't that.

I think the Sixers need to have Admiral Schofield as a serious player in play for 33 or 34. Schofield already has experience playing with a non-shooting transition ball handling guard and low post force. He shot an extremely high volume of 3's over his career so we know his shooting numbers are legitimate. Which is impressive given he still has some form issues with squaring up to the basket.

If Okeke falls to 33 then he has to be one of the picks. You cant pass on lottery talent when you're team is about to be cap strapped and won't be picking in the lottery any time soon.

I still really like Aubrey Dawkins with their last pick. He'd be a great two-way contract player and if he pans out there he can join the team next year.

With their 40's pick I think Norvell will still be there. His agility combine scores were awful, worse than slow-mo Ty Jerome even. If Brand has a sense of Butler and Harris being willing to resign then this might be the pick I'd either trade for a future second or even sell depending on what cash considerations we're eligible for. If we can get the full amount and a team is willing I might consider that to give us more cap space to find a veteran.
