Did you really compare AD to Love? You do know that AD plays ELITE defense, right?
That's fine, it's not a perfect comparison.
It makes a difference. AD and Love were closely rated (AD is still higher) before Love went to the Cavs. Love had better offensive number than AD and much worse defensive numbers. Loves offense dropped but defense remained when joining LeBron and Kyrie. Ultimately, AD being the much better defender reduces the potential diminishing returns of pairing him with LeBron
Sorry, I disagree. Love is a $10-$12 mil player with a $30 mil contract. His best days are past.
To several other posters: I come not to as a troll. But the Lakers have to give everything to get
Davis - Kuzma, Ingram and Ball, at least two of the three, plus 4, aware that Ingram is up for a
big payday. So does Ainge. That includes Tatum, Smart, probably Brown and 14. Of course he'll
try to go cheap. But if he doesn't land Davis, Kyrie walks. Horford's still a good player, but they're
saddled with Hayward who can't be moved.
If the Lakers don't land Davis, you'll have wasted a chance to win a championship. LeBron turns
35 in December. It won't be easy with two super-super stars and not much else, but there's an
opening next year in the West with the Golden State injuries.
This is one of those moments to seize IMO. Carpe diem!
