They can verbally agree to the trade now and make it official later if NOP is willing. The problem though is that you need the salary from #4 to be included and once you sign a draft pick you have to wait 30 days. Thus I think NOP probably doesn't wait unless it was a sticking point with LAL since I feel like they don't want to do LAL any favors.

Interested in seeing what picks protections look like. #4, 2020 1st unp, and 2022 1st mild protections with the deal done July 6th?

Three firsts is a lot. Especially given LBJ's age and AD's injury history. Obviously, Ingram's health will play a huge part in how this ultimately pans out for the Pelicans.

Obviously a big domino...will be interesting to see if other suitors (Knicks, Celtics) pivot to Plan Bs or just get up from the table and slow-play the rest of the offseason.

Great timing too. That will be an excellent team and the West is wide open. Time to get some.

Really only two future firsts. I assume 2020 , 2022. Number 4 pick for this draft was found money.

Yep 6th from PHO or 7th from CHI might be in play along with a sweetener to Pels

I think if they want another draft pick they are moving Holiday... which could be more likely after this trade.
(They traded for young players and picks instead of an all star like WOJ mentioned earlier)

If they move ball I think it’s for a more established win now player.

I guess. I just still don't see the Lakers being better than the Warriors, Rockets, Blazers, Nuggets. That's before the Clippers potentially getting Kawhi. Maybe they sign another big time player. I just see a team with very little beyond James (older and coming off an injured year), and Davis (oft injured himself, albeit a top 5 talent when he's healthy).

Good haul for the Lakers for sure. Don't get me wrong, based off of the direction they were trying to go (win now) this was the right move. I just don't think it makes them contenders

A lot depends on their next moves too. If they go out and sign the knuckle heads of the NBA again, miss out on max FA's, etc. Then yeah. It'll be bad. If they, say get Kemba, get veteran 3/D players, and nice cheap smart vets for depth then they may make noise.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I can't help but feel like Boston will look back and regret not making Tatum available.

From the Lakers perspective perhaps. It's still part of the compensation that the Pels are getting. It's still part of the offer other teams have to beat.

Kemba as a 3rd option would be a perfect situation

That could potentially be nice later on if true. I don't think it'll matter for the 1st couple of years.

Would you rather have 2 future first and Hart or Kuzma.

Feel like NOLA feined interest if the pick protections arent great.
