Oh me oh my

That could potentially be nice later on if true. I don't think it'll matter for the 1st couple of years.

All it takes is an injury or two and this could be an absolute demolishing by NOP if that's true.

I have LAs max cap room at 27m if they trade Bonga and Wagner with no salary coming back. Don’t see how they can get any max FAs.

If they sign the #4 pick, wait the 30 days, and then do the trade after signing a FA they have more space (need #4's salary to make the deal legal since you aren't taking AD into space). Otherwise yes you are correct.

But then they won’t be able to match salary for the AD trade.

Again stretching Deng was such a terrible move.

Only need to send out something like 22 million for it be a legal trade for AD.

Only Deng worst than stretching Deng was signing him in the first place.

Yep 6th from PHO or 7th from CHI might be in play along with a sweetener to Pels

I think if they want another draft pick they are moving Holiday... which could be more likely after this trade.
(They traded for young players and picks instead of an all star like WOJ mentioned earlier)

If they move ball I think it’s for a more established win now player.

Maybe, but they could also take Garland or White at 4 and shop them for a center with intention of keeping Ball.

So if they sign 4 for the Pels and wait the 30 days they can sign a max 7-9 year guy but they still have to trade Bonga and Wagner for no salary back.

But I really don’t see the Pels going along with waiting a month to do the Lakers a favor.

They don't have to match salary, just use cap room

That shows 29.4 now. But yeah, if New Orleans isn’t willing to wait for LA to sign the 4 and trade him, which would mean waiting until August, then there’s no way to add another max contract guy fully. Otherwise, they’re right at that 29-30.

Lonzo to the Bulls for 7, 4 and 7 for 2?

Morant/Moore/Jackson
Jrue/Hart
Ingram/Hill
Zion
Okafor

I know I’m missing a bunch of guys but I like that core.

Was said trade can't be official till July 6. Signing 4 and waiting 30 days is one path. If Pels don't want to be generous . The second path is losing Bonga and Wagner and doing the trade July 6. All the Lakers players minus Kuzma and pick 4 salary equal bout 22.9 million. 22.9 *1.25 = 28.6 . That's a legal trade and still have a max.

I hope we're about to trade Jrue and not Ball. I rather go full rebuild around Zion, not some blended bs! I believe in Ball, let's keepem Griffin!

I said it before keeping Lebron is a huge risk for the Lakers. The safe way out was trading him (eg for Ben Simmons) and keeping all their assets.

The only way forward with Bron was to sacrifice their young players and cap to go all in. The thing is there's a chance this goes belly up. Lebron is at the point where he might have 1, 2 or 0 prime years left. We don't know. He could be done halfway through the season with injury. It could be a drama filled mess of a year like the Dwight year leading AD to change his mind. What if by the end of the year the Lakers look like a team led by a increasingly washed up star with no assets and cap room going forward? Does AD want to spend his whole prime there? Obviously with no Warriors the upside is clear. But the Lakers are betting it all on a very old player in NBA miles

The problem is that I'm not sure the guys available at 4 and 7 make that trade worth it for Memphis. NOP is flush with assets and could make a deal happen, but I just think Memphis would have a hard time pulling the trigger on 2 for 4+7.
