Though they probably would have preferred jumping to #1 themselves.

Ever think maybe they didn't want him. Look at his offensive to defense rating. He's a liability. He was and old rookie which made him appear like he was going to be better than he is.

Lakers still need a point. Sign Kemba or trade for Conley?

Will be interesting to see if the Lakers can get a couple FA guards, they'll definitely need it. Kyrie and another floor spacer would be perfect.

D’Angelo Russel back to the lakers would be funny

but also awesome.

Yeah, they still gotta build around LeBron and AD and hope for no serious injuries, a lot can happen until next June.

After this trade do the Lakers have enough cap space to offer someone a max deal?

I think so, not 100 percent sure though.

I think you're right (someone earlier in this thread posted number). But...they also have to fill out their roster. If a third star goes there is it LeBron, AD, third star, Kuzma and G-League players? I guess depth might not matter, but I would wonder about health issues.

They should really use the rest of that cap space to round out the roster with decent roll players. LeBron and AD is enough at the time and will have their own fit issues, that money is better spending shoring up the roster instead of adding a third semi-star.

Kuzma is a overrated. I can understand why the Lakers like having a cheap productive player under contract but I might almost prefer the extra FRP that New Orleans got instead.
He produces more points for the other team. Geez just because a guy chucks and scores a few points people think he's good.

So glad Raps got their chip. Masai needs to make some moves because the Lakers are going back to the finals.

If the Pelicans are having a firesale, Jrue would look good in a Raptors jersey.

I don’t think most people are paying attention to Ramona Shelburne’s tweet...

The Pels apparently got three firsts AND four pick swaps. And a lot of that comes after AD’s contract ends and some comes after LeBron’s contract ends.

What assets would they use to trade for him?

Nah, if they can get a max point guard then they'll be better off with that
