What's plan B, C, D now?

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:30 pm

With AD gone what we do now?

1)give Al Horford chance to compete for a ring? Resigned for 20 million per year we can trade him for Capela straight.

2) resign Rozier, can not lose another asset, but play him off ball with Hayward as point forward.

Rozier/smart
Brown/rookie
Hayward/semi
Tatum/rookie/Yabu
Capela/Baynes/Williams

Draft PF and SG...give rookies minutes.

What will Danny do?

I'd rather keep Al than trade him for Capela.

I'd rather pair Capela with Al somehow

Al will probably leave if this is the end roster. The goal is to win a title

Can't believe y'all overvalued Tatum and Brown like that. Wouldn't trade either one. Ainge will regret that.

Youth movement with Rozier as tank commander.

No tank with Rozier. He's elite. According to the Scary One of course.

I side with ainge. This was so rigged, it was ridiculous.

We need a PG and some scoring. Conley and one more asset. I want to get to second round and ecf finals. If we lost to Giannis. So be it.

Trading for 50 year old conely instead if being able to keep your 26 year old all star pg is another fireable offense.

Plan B was always to resign Rozier assuming that his offers in free agency aren't too high to match. Now that Irving's leaving, the Celtics may want to stay uncommitted to any big salaries beyond 2021. Let everybody expire. Get Horford back on a one year after this season and then sign him to a much smaller slot after the 2021 free agency chase.

Hope we hit on #14 and the Memphis pick.
Let Brown and Tatum take the lead now that the circus left town. Tatum's disappearance was the biggest issue this year.
It's basically the '18 playoff team all over again.

Save cap space for when Hayward and Horford go off the books.

This is still a good roster built for the long haul.

It doesn't make sense.

I have to assume the players agents keyed Ainge off on what they'd do.

And after a year of hell with Irving Ainge decided there's no point in trying.

As for what our plan is now.

If you're over 30 you no longer have a place on this team.

Horford likely opts out and signs on for a contender. Maybe he'll sign for the Lakers or Rockets for the MLE who **** cares.

We draft 100 players. We hope the 1% chance happens that one of them is good enough. We make the playoffs as a treadmill team. That's what happens now.

Maybe Ainge flips Smart or Rozier for another first it doesn't matter.

Rozier is not an asset unless he signs a deal in the like $9M per year range. He's just not very good and if he starts making Smart level money we will start to get locked into Miami Heat land, with a bunch of middling players making big money. The worst thing you can do in the NBA is pay mediocre players starter money.

Resign Rozier.
Make sure Horford is all in. Otherwise, wish him the best as he looks for another title shot.
Build a bench of shooters.
Give Tatum and Jaylen the green light next season.

Horford deserves a chance to get ring, Dany should trade him to contender and get young asset back.

I'm down for the tank and Rozier would be the perfect loser to lead it, but that guy doesn't deserve to wear a Celtics jersey again after the crap he pulled this year.
