Great package for Pelicans. New Orleans definitely won this deal. Fantastic.

Shelbourne is saying there’s like 7 picks/swaps total. No way Boston could risk marching that sort of value.

Oh, he and Ingram will suddenly be the best thing since sliced bread now that they're no longer Lakers. The same silliness as with D'Lo and Randle.

Personally I always thought Randle was pretty decent... still don't think Dlo is that great.

I just feel AD's never going to meet expectations in LA because people view him for something he's not.

He's not a first option on a contender so you're really counting on LeBron in the last few years of his prime to lead that team to the promised land. Health will be a key factor for both players, but let's see if they can sign or make a move for another All-Star who fits AD's timeline. That would change the value of this trade. I'm just not convinced this is a slam dunk for the Lakers. Maybe I'm in denial.

Considering that it was basically a one horse race, Pels did fine.

Dez wrote:So am I the only that thinks that the Lakers aren't contenders next season? I don't trust Davis' ability to stay healthy or the Lakers ability to put a competent team around them.

Also didn't Davis have a thing about not wanting to play C? Keeping Kuzma means he'll have to play C.

It's a great trade for both teams. Reminds me of the Pau trade. If Kuz was in the deal, then it would ahve been bad, but considering the Lakers have Lebron/AD/Kuz, and still lots of cap space, I say this works great. Zo/BI fit well next to Zion too, so good for them.

Also sets up a long window for LA even when Lebron is done. Picking up a superstar big in his mid-20's is HUGE.

How long until AD is a spot up shooter? I am still not convinced this team wins it all. They need a lot of vets to come in.

Kemba isn't gonna give up that supermax deal from Hornets anyway.

No franchise players in this deal that we know of - depending on how that fourth pick works out.

People in the Laker family know how to handle bigs. Not even worrying about that. Makes me like the coaching pick even more, because Lue would be ill-equipped for AD.

I actually like the trade for NO. That team is going to be running and gunning especially with Zion running the wing. All they need is big to run the floor and they can probably sign McGee at a discount.

With Durant and Klay out, LA is loading up for a run. If they stay healthy, they may have a shot to go far but it depends on how they play D and the bench they have.

Man, I wish next season had started already.

Except one big difference from the trade that you said was official. It was missing the #4 pick, 2 more 1st round picks, plus a pick swap. Essentially the same though....

The picks and pick swaps make the deal an ok one. Still it's more quantity over quality.

Love it for both sides. LAL definitely paid up, and NOP got a great haul. Pels might actually be pretty good next year if Jrue sticks around and Zion lives up to the hype
