Fire Danny Ainge

Post#1 » by Green89 » Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:55 pm

It has to be done. For the past 3-4 years he hoarded and handcuffed the team by not making deadline moves to better the team, waiting all the while for an Anthony Davis trade that never happened. It's time he goes and we move on from the period that will forever go down in Celtics lore as the one where we hoarded assets and got no prize in the end.

He held off on PG13, Butler, Kawhi, and who knows who else, all to get Anthony Davis. This is a disaster of epic porportions. He let three top 10 players go by the wayside and we now have no top options.

Umm we have been pretty good most of the time Danny Ainge has been here, and we had a ton of talent on last years team (probably too much) Calling to fire danny for not trading for a player who did not want to play here and would cause problems does not make a lot of sense to me. We are a playoff team who could be 1 move away from a championship team depending on how this offseason goes. If Brown and Tatum and GH all improve we are a 50 win team. Be patient.

I said once or twice before I'd fire it up if he failed to get AD after all the moves he wouldn't make for years waiting for this to happen.

And you know that the deal had to be for both Brown and Tatum because....? Lakers didn't even have to give up Kuzma.

Be cool in this thread people. Vent at Danny, defend Danny, whatever. Just don't attack each other.

Because the Lakers gave up first round picks until Tatum is in his mid to late 20s. Danny wasn't beating that offer for a 1 year rental lol.

You don't trade your best young player (Tatum) for a one year rental. Tatum is going to be really good and a Celtics legend when all is said and done. AD was going to be Kyrie Irving part deux. Ainge is probably the best GM in the NBA. Relax and let him do his job.

I'm not quite there *I'm close though* but I'm also not on the "DANNY IS AMAZING AND ANY CRITICISM THROWN HIS WAY IS LAUGHABLE" bandwagon... Anyone laughing at the notion of questioning danny IMO is more pathetic than anyone that suggests firing him.

Danny handicapped last years team just so he could keep the assets needed to get AD this offseason. He didn't get AD.......Which means him not bettering last years team was all for nothing. But let's just ignore that tho because danny can do no wrong.

He turned down leonard because he didn't wanna give up brown and because he apparently wanted AD more. Well, he got neither... And now kyrie is leaving and this franchise is about to take several steps backwards......But again, danny doesn't deserve any blame here. Of course not.

The only miss here is Kawhi.

George was not an option because Indiana didn’t want to wait until FA ended. We needed to wait to sign Hayward before trading for George. Not even worth including him.

Butler is whatever. Overrated as hell and will likely be a horrible contract.

Kawhi is legit and the offer wasn’t that demanding. Kyrie + Kawhi would had been fun for a year, and you would have had a better chance at convincing Kawhi to stay.

AD would had taken too much for a dude who was 99% out of here, and we wouldn’t even have had Kyrie to pair him with because Kyrie is, well, Kyrie.

I can’t blame Ainge much when so much of this hinges on Hayward’s injury. That’s where this mess started unfortunately. Ainge played it perfectly and had some bad freakin luck at the end.

Because LA was giving up the #4 pick and a bunch of unprotected pics plus Lonzo and Ingram both of whom were also top 3 picks.

You're trashing on that offer and it's unfair like all it takes is just Tatum.

Nah fam. Wake up

Let's not forget Kyrie's public callout for veteran help last year. Could have been one reason he's probably leaving. IT called out for deadline help when he was playing here. All ignored requests by Danny to wait for this day, that has now come and gone with no acquisition.

What if i said that Danny and others wanted to do the deal but others didnt want to leverage their future on an unknown, considering Kyrie is about to leave?
