Given the reports about Tatum not being available I can't really blame Griffin. Assuming no long term health issues I think Ingram was probably the best asset available. I certainly hope he pans out - although I think his poor FT shooting is a red flag.

It'll be interesting to see if NO moves Ball for more picks or keeps him. I'm pretty negative on Ball, but I know others really like him (and I certainly could be wrong.... I'm not a GM or anything :D).

He was definitely smart to push for more picks over Kuzma... Kuzma might be useful as a role player but he's looked very one dimensional so far during his career and IMO had the lowest ceiling of the Lakers players.

I do wonder if the Knicks ever offered up Robinson and all their draft picks (they had a bunch)... I would have considered that were I NO. Sounds like they didn't though from reports.

Extra picks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kuzma

I have no idea where this love for Kuzma is coming from. Did people watch him last year? He is terrible defensively and faded badly offensively in the 2nd half. Finished the year shooting 30 percent from 3.

He can be someones goto scorer off the bench and help a contending a team I guess but for the Pelicans they need lotto tickets not Kuzmas.

Kuzma's main value over Ball and Ingram is/was health.

I just want to say HAHAHAHAHSHAHAHAHA to all the Lakers haters that were like “ummmm Anthony Davis will never get traded to LA”. Told you this was going to happen. Oh and they kept Kuzma! HAHAhaHAHAHa maybe I should be petty and start quoting posters. Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhaha

But seriously though good trade for both teams. Pelicans got a good haul and Lakers got a top 5 player with the cap-space to add another max.

They got a poor mans rondo and a bust in lonzo and a guy with blood clot problems and who is overrated anyways and is gonna be overpaid in a year when dumb franchises start throwing money for him and his "potential" let me not get started on josh hart beyond trash but salary filler.. that 4th pick is medicore, heavy fall of from 3, that pick is either gonna bust or turn into a average starter at best ugh.. Those other two picks are probably unprotected they better be but they are still gonna be late picks so they don't really matter too much. As much as it pains me to say this Fakers fleeced the pels and griffin is an idiot. Even when Lebum is done being a top 10 player in like 2 years, they can still build around AD since he will be pretty young still and they are in LA so they will attract some FA then. Fakers got a legit franchise players for alteast 6-7 years to build around I am pissed. This big market BS is ruining this league and is giving trash organizations waay to much advantage to build contenders even when they are terribly mismanaged **** disgusting!!!

You’ve got a small window of time to do a deal. So what realistic deal out there do you make if your David Griffin? Tic toc tic toc

It's pretty amazing the guys Lebron has played with in his career yet we always hear that he's had no help.

Wade
Bosh
Ray Allen
Love
Irving

and now AD plus I'm sure they'll sign another star. Crazy

Awwww you mad that I was right? A lot of idiots on the general board eating crow tonight. I actually wasn’t being a homer because I acknowledged that another team could take a chance on AD but I rightly realized the Lakers had a very competitive package.

This is ridiculous. Yes, this was a great deal for the Lakers, but come on, a team that failed to make the playoffs, can't be the title favorites.
they’re not actual favorites (or maybe they are) but moneys gonna be rolling in for them so the bookies have to protect themselves a bit.

It's funny how all of a sudden Lonzo and Ingram are high-potential guys rather than lol busts and the fourth pick is actually very valuable and interesting.

The Lakers are not allowed to trade picks in consecutive drafts. Am I missing something? Or Romona just being a moron

She says that there might be pick swaps involved. That means that the years when the Lakers can't trade a pick (because you can't trade back to back picks) that the Pelicans would have swap rights. Thus....control of 7 years of the Lakers draft.

I see that what had me confused was the fact she said the Pelicans are not interested in next years pick. They never had the option after taking the 4th pick (other then a pick swap as you said)

Weird wording on her part it was like she wasn't aware of the rule.

The not wanting next year's pick to me makes perfect sense. I think the Lakers would have tried to avoid trading #4 and offered next years pick, while the NOP said hell no. Next year the pick is going to be a low pick because of the superteam. So they were probably adamant to a)get #4 instead of 2020. The control 7 years is probably do to protections (ie. 2021 protected for 1-14 otherwise its 2022 protected 1-14 other wise 2023 with the 3rd pick 2 years after it converts - so in total its locked in for 7 years and Lakers cannot trade another pick until those conditions get satisfied first)

Flop...could've been an exciting, fun future for the Pelicans, but they went for a number of assets instead of the best asset....bent over for Lebron after all that chest thumping.

Image

They got a guy with blood clots, some dad with a kid and who's gonna be the fourth pick again?

Lebron is gonna sleep good this summer.
